MSI today added a pair of X-slim laptops to its portfolio, the 14-inch X400 and 15-inch X600. The X-Slim series of notebooks are based on Intel's Consumer Ultra Low Voltage (CULV) platform. The X400 and X600 are less than one inch thick, have LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen displays, and support the Blu-Ray standard. Although available with different screen sizes, both monitors support one 16:9 native resolution - 1366x768 pixels. The X400 weighs in at 3.3 pounds (1.5 kg), and the X600 comes in at 4.6 pounds (2.1 kg). The X400 comes with a 4-cell Li-polymer battery or 8-cell extended life battery. The X600 is available with an optional 9-cell extended life battery as well. All X-Slim notebooks use external optical drives. Both the X400 and X600 feature Intel Core 2 Solo processors, up to 500 GB hard drives, and up to 4 GB of RAM. A main difference between the X400 and the X600 is in the graphics department; the X400 has an integrated Intel X4500HD graphics card, while the X600 features an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. As for the price and ship date don't ask, MSI never tells such things.

I like the sound of the x400 with an 8 cell li-po, although a slightly higher res screen wld be nice. I might bite if the price is right

But it isnt. It is a fake rim. I have a SONY laptop from 2001 that is less than 1" thick. 1" inch is nothing. Needs to be less 2cm to really be noticeably slim.
