Club3D Introducing the All Brand New R9 280 royalKing

The Radeon R7 and R9 series are expanding! First announced in September 2013 at the AMD Hawaii tech event, the Radeon R7 and R9 series have added about a dozen more cards to the product lineup. These new cards offer better performance than the competition while being more affordable at the same time. To close the gap between the very powerful yet affordable R9 270X and the immensely popular R9 280X, we are pleased to introduce the brand new Club 3D Radeon R9 280 royalKing!

Being a royalKing, the R9 280 is a proud new addition to our widely awarded and recognized PokerSeries. Fitted with a revised Tahiti PRO 2 GPU, the R9 280 has 1792 Stream Processors, 3072Mb of GDDR5 memory at 5000MHz and a 384 bit memory bus. This new addition to the R9 series offers significantly better specs and performance than the competition with a suggested end user price of $279 (SEP).

Club 3D Radeon R9 290 Pictured

Here's the first picture of an AIB-branded Radeon R9 290 (non-X) graphics card, the Club3D Radeon R9 290. The card sticks to AMD's reference board design, which like the Radeon R9 290X, could have exclusive market presence for a while, before AMD's add-in board (AIB) partners come up with their own board designs. This particular card features a factory-overclock, although we don't have the clock speeds at hand. The reference design clock speeds, which will be loaded into the card's failsafe secondary BIOS, will be 946 MHz core, and 5.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. Based on the 28 nm "Hawaii" silicon, the Radeon R9 290 features 2,560 stream processors, 160 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 4 GB of memory.

Ahead of its formal launch, various AIB-branded Radeon R9 290X graphics card packages smiled for the camera, revealing three things - they're all based on AMD's reference design, barring minor factory-overclock, they're otherwise identical, and that it could be a while before we'll see non-reference design R9 290X graphics cards. Pictured below are cards from three AIB partners, Sapphire, Club3D, and GIGABYTE. Barring Club3D, the other two offer Origin keys to Battlefield 4 (standard edition) as part of the package. We know of one other AIB that offers Battlefield 4, XFX.

Club3D announced its lineup of Radeon HD 7800 series graphics cards, the Radeon HD 7850 (model: CGAX-7856), and Radeon HD 7870 (CGAX-7876). Both models follow AMD reference design to the letter, there’s little AIB vendor branding on these cards. The cards stick to AMD reference clock speeds, that’s 1000/1200(4800) MHz (core/memory(effective)) for the HD 7870, and 860/1200(4800) MHz for the HD 7850. Based on the 28 nm “Pitcairn” silicon, the Club3D HD 7870 packs 1280 stream processors, and 2 GB of GDDR5 memory, over a 256-bit wide memory interface. The HD 7850 has 1024 stream processors. In all likelihood, Club3D’s cards also stick to AMD’s target pricing of US $349 for the HD 7870, and $249 for the HD 7850.

Club3D Launches its Radeon HD 7700 Series Lineup

Club3D joined the HD 7700 party by launching its pair graphics cards, the Radeon HD 7770 (CGAX-7772) and Radeon HD 7750 (CGAX-7752). The two cards appear to be contract-manufactured by TUL, the company behind PowerColor and VTX3D, as the card designs bear a striking resemblence to those by the two brands. The HD 7770 of course is based on AMD's reference board and cooler designs, with a red-colored PCB. The HD 7750, on the other hand, features a refreshing single-slot cooler. The HD 7700 packs 640 GCN stream processors, and feactures clock speeds of 1000 MHz core, and 1125 MHz (4.50 GHz GDDR5 effective) memory; while the HD 7750 packs 512 stream processors, with clock speeds of 800 MHz core and 1125 MHz (4.50 GHz GDDR5 effective) memory.

Club3D Radeon HD 7970 Graphics Card Pictured

Although AMD's Radeon add-in board partners (AIBs) are still "under oath" (read: NDA) not to disclose their products before the 9th of January, Club3D's Radeon HD 7970 press-shots still made it to the web. Pictured below are the Club3D Radeon HD 7970 graphics card and its box-art. The box art is typical Club3D, nothing exceptionally new there. The card, too, sticks to AMD's reference board design, till the point where it uses a red-colored PCB instead of a black one (found on AMD's HD 7970 press samples).

Based on the 28 nm "Tahiti" silicon, Radeon HD 7970 is the first DirectX 11.1 compliant graphics card, it packs 2048 GCN cores, and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 384-bit wide memory interface. The core is clocked at 925 MHz, and the memory at 1375 MHz (5.50 GHz). It is expected that this card will stick to the price AMD disclosed, around US $550.
