NVIDIA Outs GeForce 313.95 Beta Drivers for Crysis 3 Open Beta

For those interested in taking Crysis 3 Open Beta (multiplayer) for a spin, NVIDIA released the new GeForce 313.95 Beta drivers, which addresses known issues, and is features optimizations for the game. NVIDIA expects performance increments as high as 35 percent. The driver also packs performance enhancements for other AAA titles, such as SLI and single-GPU performance gains of up to 27 percent with Assassin's Creed III, up to 19 percent for Civilization V, up to 14 percent in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, up to 14 percent in DiRT 3, up to 11 percent in Just Cause 2, and up to 10 percent each in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, F1 2012, and Far Cry 3.

NVIDIA Rolls Out GeForce 306.23 WHQL Drivers

Following launches of its GeForce GTX 660 and GTX 650 graphics processors earlier this day, NVIDIA released the latest stable version of its GeForce driver suite. GeForce 306.23 WHQL was released for Windows 7/Vista and Windows XP. This is NVIDIA's first WHQL-signed driver launch after GeForce GTX 660 Ti was launched last month. Hence, it includes official support for GeForce GTX 660 Ti, GeForce GTX 660, and GeForce GTX 650. The company also notified that the next WHQL-signed drivers will remove support for legacy GeForce GPUs such as 6-series and 7-series.

GeForce 306.23 WHQL also adds GPU and game-specific performance improvements. Along with the latest patch by its developer, Total War: Shogun 2 will see up to 60% performance improvement with GeForce GTX 680. Performance is also significantly improved for games such as Batman: Arkham City, Dragon Age II, STALKER: Call of Pripyat, and Battlefield 3 (in SLI). SLI profiles were added or improved for a large number of games. The drivers provide early support for applications built with CUDA 5 Preview.

EVGA GTX 680 Classified 4GB Smashes 2 GHz GPU Clock Barrier

EVGA's GeForce GTX 680 4GB, in the skilled hands of Vince “k|ngp|n” Lucido, smashed the 2 GHz barrier for GPU clock, setting a new clock speed world record for the GTX 680. The card achieved a GPU clock speed of 2,002 MHz, with a core voltage of 1.212V; and memory clock speed of 7.406 GHz. The card went on to score P16472 in 3DMark 11 (performance preset). The rest of the test-bench included Intel Core i7-3960X six-core processor clocked at 5.53 GHz, EVGA X79 Classified motherboard, 16 GB of quad-channel DDR3-2400 MHz G.Skill RipjawsZ memory, and EVGA NEX 1500W PSU. The GPU was cooled by k|ngp|n Tek-9 FAT 6.0 LN2 evaporator, while the CPU was cooled by k|ngp|n Dragon F1 Dark LN2 evaporator. Find the ORB page here.

F1 2012 To Launch Worldwide in September

Ahead of the first race of the 2012 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in Melbourne this weekend, Codemasters today announced that F1 2012 will launch worldwide in September for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and PC. F1 2012 is the next game in the award-winning, multi-million selling series from Codemasters as part of an exclusive multi-year deal with Formula One World Championship Limited.

To mark the announcement and introduce one of F1 2012’s new headline features, Codemasters has released a video following F1 2012 Creative Director, Stephen Hood, as he meets the next generation of drivers at the Young Driver Test. Filmed at the Yas Marina Circuit, home of the FORMULA 1 Abu Dhabi GRAND PRIX, Stephen asks if their experience with Codemasters’ FORMULA ONE games has been of benefit as they prepare for a career in the world’s most exciting motorsport in real life.
