NVIDIA GM107 "Maxwell" Silicon Pictured

Here is the first picture of a couple of NVIDIA GM107 silicons in a tray, ahead of graphics card assembly. The packages appear to be as big as those of the GK106 from the previous generation, however, the die itself is estimated to be smaller, at roughly 156 mm², compared to the 221 mm² die of the GK106, and the 118 mm² of the GK107. The best part? All three chips are built on the same 28 nm silicon fab process. So what makes the GM107 die smaller than that of the GK106 despite having a similar feature-set? Narrower memory bus. The GM107 is said to feature a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, in comparison to the 192-bit wide interface of the GK106.

Apart from the 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, the GM107 is said to feature a total of 960 CUDA cores, 80 TMUs, and 16 ROPs. The CUDA core count is identical to that of the GK106. The GM107 is built on NVIDIA's next-generation "Maxwell" GPU architecture. It will form the foundation of two SKUs, the GeForce GTX 750 Ti, and the GeForce GTX 750. The former features the full complement of 960 CUDA cores; while the latter is slightly cut down, and features just 768. The TDP of the GTX 750 Ti is approximated to be around 75 Watt. If true, the GTX 750 duo will set new standards on the performance-per-Watt metrics. NVIDIA is expected to launch both, later this month.

ASUS ROG Poseidon Graphics Card Pictured Some More

Here are some more pictures of ASUS' Republic of Gamers Poseidon graphics card, after its unofficial unveiling last week. SweClockers scored a few interesting tidbits about the card, which is being exhibited at DreamHack, Europe's biggest gaming event. The biggest news of them all is the chip underneath that hot-rod cooler - it's a GeForce GTX 780, and not a GTX 780 Ti, meaning that it offers just 2,304 CUDA cores and 192 TMUs, and not the 2,880 CUDA cores and 240 TMUs of the GTX 780 Ti. The card is expected to come with a minor factory-overclock (not disclosed), but large overclocking headroom backed by not just its 10-phase Digi+ VRM, but also its cooling solution, which fuses an aluminium fin-stack heatsink with a full-coverage liquid cooling channel.

NVIDIA Working on a GeForce GTX TITAN Refresh?

The GeForce GTX 780 Ti may be the fastest single-GPU graphics card that money can buy, by a long shot, but only to people who game and don't really care about double-precision floating point GPGPU performance. NVIDIA expects you to shell out $999 on the GTX TITAN for full double-precision FP performance at the moment. For all other intents and purposes, the GTX TITAN is cannibalized, but will it stay that way? VideoCardz spotted these pictures of a black-colored GTX TITAN graphics card in the wild, which retains the cooler design of the original, right up to the "TITAN" logo, but swaps out the silver for black. The publication is referring to the card as a sort of "Black Edition." Speculation is rife about what it could be, a GK110-based card with identical core-configuration to the GTX 780 Ti, 6 GB of memory, full double-precision floating-point performance and slightly higher clock speeds, perhaps?

NVIDIA Readies GeForce Experience ShadowPlay

NVIDIA is readying a new GeForce Experience feature called ShadowPlay. The feature lets you record or stream your gameplay in high-quality h.264 format, with minimal performance impact, in comparison to other third party apps, such as FRAPS and MSI Afterburner. While apps such as FRAPS capture from the DirectX pipeline, and strain various sub-systems by recording videos into near-lossless AVI formats, NVIDIA might be experimenting with an alternative method, besides recording in formats that don't strain the system too much. ShadowPlay is debuting with a new driver labeled GeForce 331.65 beta, which was leaked to the web. Screenshots of the GeForce Experience also reveal an applet by NVIDIA that lets you control LEDs on reference design GTX 770, GTX 780, GTX TITAN, and GTX 690. Since the leaked drivers are hosted on third-party file sharing sites, we must caution you on possible security risks.

Bitspower Also Releases Their New Full Cover TITAN Waterblocks

These new full cover blocks from Bitspower, designed for the GeForce GTX TITAN, do arrive six months late to the party, the time period from NVIDIA's official TITAN launch, an interval in which every single competitor that planed to launch a TITAN water block did it already. In fact there are plenty of TITAN water blocks from a variety of vendors, populating the shelves of specialized shops, while the Bitspower blocks still haven't reached retail. Which does make one wonder, more so after the Bitspower AIZ77ITXD launch (a new water block designed for a previous generation Motherboard), is being consistently late to market a question of policy, or maybe style?

The Bitspower VG-NGTXTITAN full cover block comes in no less that eight variants, all differences between them being solely chromatic. The design of the block is fairly uncluttered without being plain, it features the Bitspower tribal logo and the product code, in contrasting colors, on the acrylic top cover. The base plate comes in two versions, copper or nickel plated, and is made from C1100 Copper.

GALAXY Launches The GeForce GTX 770 GC 4GB

Galaxy Microsystems, a leading graphics card manufacturer, announced today the GTX 770 GC 4GB, now with 2 times the memory vs. reference editions. The 4GB version is tuned to match the impressive 1163 MHz boost clock of the GTX 770 GC 2GB and features an extra 2GB of memory to ensure smooth frame rates at high resolutions. The additional ram is especially critical for SLI setups where each card must share copies of the same resources.

Galaxy's Force Air Bracket is also present to help exhaust heat from the PC, and it provides a flexible assortment of outputs including DVI-I, DVI-D, DisplayPort, and HDMI. An adapter is included for VGA displays. Like other GTX 700 series cards before it, the GTX 770 GC 4GB supports DirectX 11.1, GPU Boost 2.0, TXAA, and a maximum of 4 concurrent displays. Overclockers will make full use of the card's superior 5+2 phase power supply (vs. 4+2 reference) which delivers more stable current to the GPU, in addition to IR DirectFET MOSFETs that reduce EMI (electromagnetic interference) and heat output.
