Toshiba's Windows 8 PCs Now Available

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced that its consumer line-up of Satellite laptops and Ultrabooks, Qosmio laptops as well as its All-in-One desktops featuring Windows 8 are available for pre-order starting today and will be widely available for purchase from select U.S. retailers and ToshibaDirect.com on October 26.

Toshiba's new laptops feature spacious touchpads with Windows 8 gesture support to allow users to perform gestures on the touchpad as they would on a touchscreen device. In addition, to help transition consumers to the innovative interface in Windows 8, Toshiba's new PCs come pre-installed with Toshiba Desktop Assist, a utility designed to give users easy access to their programs, control panel, as well as files and folders, similar to the Start Menu in previous versions of Windows.

Toshiba Expands Line of All-in-One Desktops with New 23-Inch Model

Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today expanded its line of All-in-One PCs with the introduction of the Toshiba DX735, featuring a 23-inch Full HD multi-touch display. A complete entertainment hub for the home or dorm room the DX735 offers high-end audio, video and computing performance as well as premium computing capabilities to manage and create content.

“Our All-in-One systems blend the best of Toshiba’s PC and visual product expertise for families and students looking to enjoy TV, watch DVDs and play games,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “Featuring a stylish and space-saving TV-like design, the DX735 is a great add to almost any room, enabling users to interact with their media, while acting as an ideal hub for family photos, videos, music and more.”

Onkyo Intros Full-HD 21.5 inch LA21TW-01S

Onkyo's latest addition to its monitor lineup is the LA21TW-01S. This 21.5 inch full HD monitor offers some desk aesthetics apart from its basic display functions. Apart from its native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, it features a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², and a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 (20000:1 ACR). The unit also holds two 1.6 W (RMS) speakers. It takes input from D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI connectors. It is currently priced at US $ 361.
