Be quiet!, for eight consecutive years the market leader for PC power supplies in Germany*, is fully prepared in advance of stricter European regulations for Energy-related Products (ErP) that come into force July 1, 2014. Japanese peripherals maker Scythe announced a 300W variant of its CorePower line of PSUs in the SFX form-factor. Measuring 125 mm x 63 mm x 100 mm, these units offer continuous 300W delivery, and connectors that include 24-pin ATX, two each of SATA and Molex, and one Berg. There's no mention of PCIe connectors. All modern electrical and thermal protections are on offer. The unit is cooled by an 80 mm fan that can spin at speeds of up to 2,200 RPM. Scythe didn't announce pricing.

Super Flower Leadex Platinum 850W PSU Starts Shipping

Super Flower began shipping an 850W variant of its 80 Plus Platinum-brandishing Leadex Platinum series power supplies. Slotted between the 750W and 1000W variants, the 850W variant offers enough juice for triple graphics card setups using today's performance-segment graphics cards, or two high-end ones. Featuring fully-modular cabling, the PSU offers two 8-pin EPS connectors, from which one breaks up into 4+4 pins; besides the 20+4 pin ATX connector. There are a total of six 6+2 pin PCI-Express power connectors on offer. Ten SATA power, seven Molex, and one Berg make for the rest of its connectivity. Under the hood, the Leadex Platinum 850W features a single +12V rail design, with a single 70.8A rail. The unit supports low-power Core "Haswell" C-states. Most common electrical and thermal protections are offered. It uses a 140 mm temperature-controlled fan to keep cool. Backed by a 5-year warranty, the Leadex Platinum 850W from Super Flower is expected to go for around US $220.

SilverStone Unveils NightJar 520W Power Supply

SilverStone unveiled a 520W model of its NightJar line of silent power supplies (model: SST-NJ520). The fully modular, and fan-less power supply boasts of 80 Plus Platinum efficiency rating, and features a single +12V rail design, with a single 43A +12V rail. Cabling includes a 24-pin ATX, 4+4-pin EPS, two 6+2-pin PCIe, six SATA, five Molex, and one Berg. On offer are flat (ribbon) cables that are easier to bend around tight corners in your case. The PSU passively cools all its hot components using chunky heatsinks, and a highly perforated body, which measures 150 mm x 160 mm x 86 mm (WxDxH). SilverStone didn't reveal pricing.

Corsair AX1500i Bags 80 Plus Titanium Certification

Corsair's upcoming flagship power supply, the 1500-Watt AX1500i, which debuted at this year's International CES, qualified for the coveted 80 Plus Titanium efficiency rating, which is a notch above 80 Plus Platinum. The unit should be most efficient when plugged into 230V AC lines, but was tested on a 115V AC line. It was tested to offer 91.23% efficiency at 10% load, 92.63% efficiency at 20% load, 94.04% efficiency at 50% load, and 91.34% efficiency at 100% load, staying above 90% at all test scenarios. The fully modular PSU offers a boat-load of power connectors, and should drive R9 290X 4-way CrossFireX setups with 220W TDP FX-9590 CPUs, without breaking a sweat. It supports Corsair LINK, giving you a degree of control and monitoring over the PSU's vitals. The AX1500i is expected to hit shelves later this year, priced at US $450.
