Buffalo Announces a Pair of Portable Hard Drives

Buffalo Japan announced a pair of new portable hard drive models, the HD-PA2.0TU3 and the HD-PZ2.0U3-BC (pictured in that order, below). Both drives come in capacities of 2 TB, and take advantage of USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface, with a single cable handling both power and host connectivity, but the HD-PA2.0TU3 additionally also features Thunderbolt. While the former measures 81 mm x 130 mm x 23 mm (WxDxH), featuring a combination of USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt connectivity; the latter measures 89 mm x 128 mm x 18 mm, features just USB 3.0, but offers a silicone based inner housing, which offers shock resistance that makes it meet 516.5 Procedure IV MIL-STD-810F requirements. Both are expected to be generally available around mid-July.

I-O Data Unveils New Portable Hard Drive

I-O Data today announced its newest storage solution, the HDPX-UTA Series portable hard drive. Coming in two color versions - silver and black, I-O Data's drive measures 114 x 76 x 12 mm, it weighs 170 grams, has an aluminum casing, and offers USB 3.0 connectivity and support for Apple's Time Machine.

Buffalo Announces New USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drives

Buffalo today unveiled its newest external storage solution, the Mini Station HD-PLFU3 Series. Coming in black and white, these portable drives feature USB 3.0 connectivity, they measure 115 x 76 mm, and offer 500 GB (11.5 mm height), 1 TB (14 mm) and 2 TB (19.5 mm) worth of space.

The HD-PLFU3 Series HDDs are backed by a one-year warranty and will become available (in Japan at first) around late April priced at 9,870 yen (~ 96 USD), 13,965 yen (~ 136 USD) and 20,895 yen (~ 203 USD) for the 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB units, respectively.

Toshiba Introduces New Canvio Series Hard Drives

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the addition of new two terabyte offerings to its Canvio storage lineup, including a 2 TB Canvio Basics 3.0 portable hard drive and a 2 TB Canvio Special Edition portable hard drive.
