Pretec Offers Dual-Interface eSATA/USB SSD Flash Drives with Power Over eSATA

Pretec, creator of the world's smallest USB drive and pioneer of SSD technology innovation, today introduced fresh line of 32 GB and 64 GB eSATA/USB dual interface solid-state drives compliant with the Power Over eSATA specification. In other words these SSDs do not need external power connector to operate normal and transfer data via either eSATA or USB. Another nifty feature of the new Pretec Cobra pocket SSDs are their super fast read and write speeds of 90 MB/s and 60 MB/s respectively. Considering the size and the mobility of the drives, these speeds are more than you can ever want. Unfortunately, Pretec didn't mention the price and availability date in their announcement.

CeBIT 2009: Pretec SDXC Pops Up


We all remember the move from SD cards to SDHC. These offer more space in the same physical package, but are not backwards compatible. Now that SDHC is reaching is maximum capacity, a new format has been announced back in January, called SDXC. It will support up to 2 TB capacity, while keeping the same form factor. Walking the show floor, we found Pretec quietly displaying a 32 GB card at their booth. Remember, while older cards work in SDXC card readers and devices, you will need a new reader or device to use SDXC cards. Déjà-vu anyone?

Pretec Announces the World's Fastest 16 GB CompactFlash card

Pretec, creator of the highest capacity CompactFlash card in the world (64GB) and also the fastest CF card in the world (333x) will demonstrate yet another spectacular product this year at the "Focus on Imaging 2009" imaging event. That's the new Pretec 433X CF card, which is more than 30% faster than the company's previous 333x top offering. Using a specially-crafted controller and SLC NAND flash technology, the Pretec 433X CF card reaches 65MB/s read speed and 50MB/s write speed. Available with 16GB capacity, the Pretec 433X CF card is sampling now to key customers, with volume delivery by March, 2009.
