Synology Confirms Compatibility with WD Red 6 TB and New WD Red Pro Series HDDs

Synology Inc. today announced compatibility results for new WD Red and WD Red Pro 3.5-inch NAS hard drives, including WD60EFRX (6 TB), WD50EFRX (5 TB), WD4001FFSX (4 TB), WD3001FFSX (3 TB), WD2001FFSX (2 TB). After comprehensive stress testing, Synology has confirmed the above hard drives to be compatible with selected DiskStations and RackStations from x15, x14, x13, x12, x11, x10 series.

"Synology is excited for the launch of WD Red 6 TB and WD Red Pro hard drives, allowing for more choices of hard drives to fit various requirements. Together with WD Red drives, Synology DiskStation and RackStation provide users with reliable solutions that grow with their storage demands, and efficiently centralize and share their data," said Rosiel Lee, senior sales and marketing manager. WD Red and Red Pro hard drives are designed specifically for NAS servers, aiming to deliver fine-tuned power and performance for home and business users alike. In addition to larger storage capacity, NASware 3.0 technology supports up to 8 bays for WD Red drives and 16 bays for WD Red Pro drives, as well as enhanced reliability, system performance, and easier integration.

Synology Releases DiskStation Manager 5.0

Synology today announced the availability of the official version of DiskStation Manager (DSM) 5.0, the latest NAS operating system that runs on DiskStations and RackStations. "Designed with an entirely new interface and loaded with a myriad of new features, DSM 5.0 is built to redefine how people think about NAS," said Alex Wang, CEO of Synology Inc.

The interface has been overhauled with clarity and simplicity in mind, helping users to get on with their works instantly. High-resolution mode is available when launched with Ultra HD or Retina display supported devices. QuickConnect service now supports all mobile apps and most packages from Synology, providing anytime, anywhere connection without complex router configuration.

Synology Launches RackStation RS814+ and RS814RP+ NAS

Synology today announced RS814+ and RS814RP+, a scalable 1U 4-bay rackmount NAS server offering high-performance, expandable, and full-featured network attached storage solutions for small and medium-sized business.

"The need for more powerful processing power surges as data usage grows exponentially. The RS814+/RS814RP+ is designed to address such needs, and is also optimized for business environments by providing the performance, reliability, and scalability at an affordable cost," said Michael Wang, product manager at Synology Inc.
Powered by a 2.13 GHz dual-core processor, 2 GB DDR3 RAM and four gigabit LANs with Link Aggregation enabled, the RS814+/RS814RP+ brings forth over 330 MB/s reading and 196 MB/s writing under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment. Businesses can further upgrade system RAM to 4 GB in tandem with their expanding workloads and grow the total storage space up to 32 TB by pairing it with an expansion unit RX410.

Synology Launches the RackStation RS3614xs+ NAS Server

Synology America Corp. announces the launch of the RS3614xs+, the latest of the XS+ line. The new RS3614xs+ continues to deliver Synology's award-winning storage solution, providing enterprise features at SMB prices. Small businesses can now take advantage of performance, scalability, and the virtual storage options of: VMware, Citrix, and Hyper-V, all while offering general-purpose storage that businesses need.

Synology America Corp. today announced the release of its latest RackStation NAS with the RS814. The RS814 is a high-performance 4-bay 1U server designed to scale up to 8 drives when using an RX410 expansion module.

Synology Inc. today announced the compatibility of its DiskStation & RackStation lineup with WD Red NAS hard drives that include the new 3.5" 4 TB capacity (WD40EFRX) and 2.5" 1 TB (WD10JFCX) and 750 GB (WD7500BFCX) capacities. Synology Launches RackStation RS214

Synology today launched RackStation RS214, a 1U 2-bay rackmount NAS. Featuring easy data sharing and management, RS214 is specifically designed to serve growing businesses of any size, along with a myriad of office applications that enhance working experience and productivity. "With enhanced hardware architecture, advanced fail-proof mechanism, and comprehensive business solutions, RS214 provides users with an affordable and reliable solution at an optimal price/performance ratio," said Wayne An, product manager of Synology Inc.

The RS214 is built to deliver optimal performance. Powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and Link Aggregation, the RS214 delivers an average over 70 MB/sec writing speed under RAID1 configuration in a Windows environment, and over 160 MB/sec reading. The built-in floating-point unit enhances the overall capability of the main CPU, enabling RS214 to work in higher efficiency when it comes to multimedia processing. Synology Unveils the DS1513+ SMB NAS

Synology America Corp. is proud to announce the release of the DS1513+, the latest in Synology's versatile business-class product line.
