VisionTek Introduces Wallet Drive Portable Enclosure

VisionTek Products LLC, (VisionTek), a leading manufacturer of award-winning, high-performance upgrades and accessories for PCs and Macs, today announced the new VisionTek Wallet Drive leather external drive enclosure. Sharkoon Announces Shark Zone C10 and Sharkoon QB One

Synology DiskStations DS215j and DS115 are En Route to Stores

Synology America Corp. today announced that the DiskStation DS215j is now available for purchase and the DS115 will be available next week. "The DS215j and the DS115 were delayed in Q4 due to the west coast dock issues, and with this behind us, we've seen a lot of demand for these new models, and we're really excited to see them available in the US and soon in Canada," said Jason Bonoan, Product Marketing Manager at Synology America Corp.

The DiskStations are powered by a dual-core processor with Floating-Point Unit (FPU) that unlocks its power in multitasking and multimedia processing. The platform upgrade enables the DS215j to deliver average read speeds over 111 MB/sec and average writes over 87 MB/sec, a 19% gain in writing compared with its predecessor, while keeping its power consumption as low as 13.4 watts in full operation and 5.3 watts when hard drives hibernate. Kingston Releases FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Encrypted USB Flash Drive

Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced a pair of next-generation encrypted USB Flash drives designed to safeguard an organization's valuable data. The DataTraveler 4000 Gen. 2 and DataTraveler 4000 Gen. 2 Management Ready protect sensitive information with high-level encryption.

DataTraveler 4000 G2 is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified so it provides a tamper-evident seal for physical security to detect and respond to attempts to access, use or modify the cryptographic module. Samsung Rolls Out the S34E790CN Curved Ultra-Wide HiDPI Monitor

Samsung rolled out the S34E790CN, a 34-inch, curved, ultra-wide screen monitor, offering pixel densities comparable to Ultra HD monitors. The monitor offers a native resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels, with a curvature optimized for getting more detail through to your peripheral vision. It features in-built split-screen and PIP functions, and takes in input from DisplayPort 1.2 and two HDMI 1.4 connectors. Other display vitals include 4 ms (GTG) response time, 178°/178° viewing angles, 300 cd/m² maximum brightness, and dynamic mega-contrast ratio. Other features include a 4-port USB 3.0 hub, and 7W stereo speakers. Measuring 821.5 mm x 275.5 mm x 552 mm (WxDxH), it weighs 9.9 kg (including stand). It is expected to hit the stores around the 15th of this month.

SUPoX Outs N2940-MX7 Motherboard

SUPoX (formerly known as EPoX) is still alive and kicking in the Chinese domestic market. The company came up with an unusual new silent motherboard based on the Intel Celeron N2940 "Bay Trail" SoC, the N2940-MX7. Built in the small Micro-ATX form-factor, this board integrates the Celeron N2940 single-chip solution from Intel, featuring 4 CPU cores running at up to 2.24 GHz, and cools the 7.5W TDP chip with a passive heatsink.

The N2940 chip is wired to two full-size DDR3 DIMM slots, supporting up to 8 GB of dual-channel DDR3L-1333 memory. Expansion includes two PCI-Express 2.0 x1, and one PCI-Express 2.0 x16. Storage connectivity includes two SATA 3 Gb/s ports. Display connectivity includes one each of DVI and D-Sub. Other connectivity includes one USB 3.0 port, six USB 2.0 ports (two on the rear panel, four by headers), six channel HD audio with ground-layer isolation, gigabit Ethernet, and legacy PS/2 connectors. You get LPT (parallel) and COM (serial) ports by headers.

AeroCool Rolls Out DS200 Black Window Edition Case

AeroCool rolled out the latest addition to its DeadSilence (DS) family of quiet PC cases, the DS200 Black Window Edition. A variant of the DS200, it features a tinted acrylic window on its side-panel, measuring 284 mm x 217 mm. The rest of its feature-set is identical to the original. Measuring 210 mm x 485 mm x 527 mm (WxDxH), this ATX mid-tower case is made of a SECC steel frame, and ABS panels, with synthetic leatherette coating. One of its main features is an integrated multi-channel fan-controller, with temperature readouts. Other front panel connectivity includes two each of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0/1.1 ports and HDA jacks.

The DS200 offers two 5.25-inch drive bays, and seven internal bays (2x 2.5-inch and 5x 3.5-inch), split between two detachable drive cages. The case offers room for graphics cards as long as 290 mm, but with one of the drive cages removed, that clearance is increased to 410 mm. CPU coolers as tall as 170 mm can be installed. Ventilation includes two 140 mm front intakes (one 140 mm fan included), one 120 mm rear exhaust (fan included), and a top exhaust vent that either holds one 200 mm spinner, or two 140/120 mm ones.

Antec Officially Announces P380 Flagship Chassis

Antec, Inc., California-based manufacturer of high-performance computer cases, power supplies and mobile accessories, announced today the availability of the P380, the latest addition to Antec's award-winning Performance One series. The new Quiet Computing flagship is now commercially available from 209 € (MSRP including VAT).

The P380 is a fusion of stylish design and a sophisticated cooling system, with the proven Quiet Computing features of Antec's Performance One series. Like all models in the series, the P380 is specially equipped to dampen system noise to the point that the computer is almost inaudible when the fans spin at a higher speed.

Antec Goes 2-Compartment with the P50

Antec showed off one of its first two-compartment cases, the P50. This micro-ATX case features a vertical partition, à la Corsair Carbide Air 240. Its front is decked with a brushed faux-aluminium panel, with a single 5.25-inch drive bay that's along the plane of the base, rather than vertical. Front panel connectivity includes six USB 2.0/1.1 ports, and two USB 3.0 ones, apart from 3.5 mm HDA jacks. The top vent tucks in a large 200 mm spinner, which swaps out for room for a 240 x 120 mm radiator.

The left-side compartment holds the motherboard tray, with no obstacles for graphics cards as long as 300 mm, and CPU coolers as tall as 160 mm. This compartment has two 80 mm rear exhausts. The right-side compartments holds the PSU bay with a 140 mm intake, and two ventilated drive bay stacks, with three 3.5-inch, and two 2.5-inch drive bays, in all. In all, the case has room for eight fans. All panels feature high-density polycarbonate, which works to reduce noise.

ADATA UC360 Offers Type-C with USB 3.0 Backward Compatibility

ADATA UC360 is a unique new flash drive spotted at CES, which embraces the new USB Type-C connector for fast connectivity with newer generations of smartphones, tablets, and ultra-portables; and a standard Type-A connector on its other end, for backwards compatibility with older USB standards. The two connectors slide out from the drive's ends. Although featuring a Type-C connector, the drive only supports USB 3.0 and USB 2.0/1.1, and so its transfer rates are well under 5 Gb/s.
