Acer Releases the TravelMate P645 Ultrabook

Acer America today announced the TravelMate P645 Series commercial ultrabooks that deliver longer battery life and improved performance as well as new reliability features that will keep customers working longer and more effectively.

The new Acer TravelMate P645 features 4th generation Intel Core processors, which reduce power consumption by as much as 12 percent. This results in longer battery life of up to 8 hours for enhanced productivity. Customers who multi-task throughout the workday as they review documents, compare spreadsheets and create multimedia will now experience greater responsiveness and speed using the new 4th generation Intel Core processors. They provide performance improvements of up to 15 percent and 3D graphics performance that is two times faster than 3rd generation Intel Core processors. Models will be powered by an Intel Core i7 or i5 processor.

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus Starts Selling Stateside

Samsung began selling ATIV Book 9 Plus in the US, its flagship Ultrabook. This 13-incher features a high-resolution 3200 x 1800-pixel screen, and a wedge-shaped aluminium unibody chassis. The US version runs a Core i7 "Haswell" chip with Iris Pro graphics, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of SSD-based storage. No points for guessing which operating system it runs - Windows 8.1 Pro. Measuring 317.5 mm x 220.9 mm x 12.7 mm (folded), the ATIV Book 9 Plus weighs about 1.39 kg. It's priced at US $1,800.

The device, which is available in SO8W and W-DFN 0.8mm packages, also includes improved erase performance to increase throughput and lower the initial cost of manufacturing programming.

New Intel CEO Outlines Product Plans, Future of Computing Vision at IDF 2013

From data centers to ultra-mobile devices such as tablets, phones and wearables, computing segments are undergoing exciting and even game-changing transitions, said new Intel CEO Brian Krzanich during today's opening session of the Intel Developer Forum. Krzanich laid out Intel's vision and described how Intel is addressing each dynamic market segment - such as accelerating Intel's progress in ultra-mobile devices - with new products over the next year and beyond, including a new, lower-power product family.

ASUS Zenbook UX301 to Feature WUXGA Screen Resolution

Desktop PC monitor manufacturers may have their heads collectively stuck up their in sand, but smartphone, tablet, and notebook display panel makers don't, and that's only working to bring the fabled post-PC era upon us quicker. A case in point, ASUS' upcoming Zenbook UX301 Ultrabook, which features a brilliant WUXGA (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution on its 13.3-inch screen, covered by a 10-point multi-touch layer, under a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel. In its recently posted promotional video, ASUS also shed light on its feature-set, which includes a 15.5 mm-thick body (when closed), Core i7 "Haswell" processor, SonicMaster audio, and 802.11ac WLAN.

Dell Rolls Out Latitude 7000 Series Ultrabooks

Dell unveiled its newest line of Ultrabooks, the Latitude 7000 series, which includes the 12.5-inch E7240, and 14-inch E7440. Both feature otherwise similar specs, which should narrow your search down to how big your Ultrabook should really be. Both are about 20 mm thick, feature 1366 x 768 pixels resolution with their displays, Core i3 "Haswell" 1.70 GHz dual-core processors, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD storage on the E7240, and 320 GB HDD storage on the E7440. The Latitude E7240 is priced at US $1,169, while the E7440 goes for $1,049.

Realtek Announces Low Power Consumption USB Ethernet Controller Solutions

Realtek Semiconductor Corp., one of the world's leading network and multimedia IC providers, announced today its USB 3.0-to-Gigabit Ethernet controller. The RTL8153 will target Ultrabook, Tablet, IPC, and Motherboard applications, and support the latest system platforms and features. Lenovo ThinkPad T440s UltraBook with Intel Haswell Coming Soon

Lenovo is getting all ready to launch their new ThinkPad T440s Ultrabook. Powered by Intel's latest and greatest 4th Generation Haswell Core processor, the ThinkPad T440s gives you the option to pick either a 1600 x 900 resolution IPS display or a 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS panel, both 14" in size.

Other features include NFC, Power Bridge battery (which allows you to swap batteries without having to power down the device) and a precision enhanced keyboard. The 3.5 pounds weighing Ultrabook launch date is not known as of yet, but seeing as it is already listed with a lot of details, the date can't be too far away.
