Razer Comms Supports Gamers in New Languages

Razer, the world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, software and systems, today announced the release of localized versions of Razer Comms, an all-in-one communications solution for gamers. The program is now available in German, French, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and simplified Chinese, in addition to the original English version.

With the additional language support, Razer set up more servers to help manage the influx of recent new users to the software, which is still in beta.

Razer's Crowdsourcing Approach is Back with Razer Comms

Razer, the world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, software and systems, announced today the first update to Razer Comms, its all-in-one communications solution for gamers, based on a public user poll. Following a large crowdsourcing initiative that drew feedback from more than 10,ooo users, Razer is introducing a new file transfer feature for Comms's burgeoning user base. At the same time, the company expanded the program's infrastructure with high-speed servers in eight different locations across the globe to reduce latency and improved the overall audio quality for the software, upgrading noise suppression, echo cancellation and voice volume normalization.

Asoka Debuts PLC Adapter with Power over Ethernet

Asoka Corporation, a pioneer in powerline communications (PLC) hardware and services, announced today the PlugLink PoE-200 (PL9660-48A), its first PLC adapter to support the Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard. The PlugLink PoE-200 allows consumers and small businesses to quickly build networks that deliver up to 15.4 Watts of DC power for devices like Voice over IP (VoIP) handsets, IP security cameras and other powered network devices.

MediaTek First to Bring 802.11ac 1T1R "Dual Band Concurrent" Home Networks

MediaTek Inc., a leading fabless semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions, announced today the world's first 1T1R 802.11ac dual-band concurrent Wi-Fi router and dongle solutions. The PCI Express interface will connect to 2nd Wi-Fi chipset for 11n 2x2 DBC router or to an 11ac chipset for 1x1 DBC 11ac routers. The high performance USB 2.0 allows MT7620 to add 3G/LTE support on a router or can add a UVC cam to enable the best cost/performance IP-Cam. MediaTek and D-Link Partner to Deliver High Performance Wi-Fi Cloud Routers

Sharkoon Announces Two New Stereo Headsets for Gamers

Sharkoon is expanding its "Rush" product line to now include two new stereo headsets, which provide a rich sound reproduction during play, but also offer Multimedia and voice applications such as VoIP or TeamSpeak. The compact and lightweight Sharkoon RHS100 with foldable neckband, cushioned ear pieces, and infinitely rotating microphone comes in flat black with bright optical accents in the typical Rush-orange application on both earpieces. With its built-in sound chip, the RHS100 is simply connected via the USB port on a PC or Notebook, replacing an absent or inferior soundcard, and saves time from having to switch the lengthy cable between the PC-speakers and headset. KillerNIC to Get Hardware-Accelerated VoIP

Bigfoot Networks have announced that they are planning a joint development program which will bring hardware-accelerated voice communication to the KillerNIC network interface card. This solution would move all of the client-side processing to the KillerNIC and reduce network load and performance impacts to an absolute minimum. DiamondWare technology enables HD positional and proximity-based 3D voice in games and can create a spatial positioning of each player/voice in a game.
