Swiftech Planning to Debut two self-contained Liquid Cooling Systems

Swiftech, when planning new products, has decided that some people using Liquid Cooling are a little scared of building their own system from scratch, and would rather see the benefits of liquid cooling without all the risks of custom-building. For these customers, Swiftech has made the all-new H2O-120 and H2O-220 Liquid Cooling Systems. The H20-120 combines the Apogee Drive 350 pump and water block with a MCR120 radiator, and comes already assembled, filled with liquid, and ready to cool. The H20-220 is the same kit, but with more, larger fans. Swiftech claims that the H20-220 can cool an overclocked quad core system with two NVIDIA 8800GTX's. The H20-120 kit is $159, and there is no word from Swiftech as to what the H20-220 will cost.

Swiftech releases new block for NVIDIA GeForce 8 series

Named after the famous Stealth fighter bomber because of its angular shapes and black livery, Swiftech's Stealth is a VGA water-block designed exclusively for nVidia's high-end GeForce™ 8 series graphics cards. At the time of publication, the Stealth is compatible with the 8800 GTS, GTX and Ultra models.

The ultimate GeForce™ cooling performance:

Using the same core cooling technology as the Apogee™ GT and GTX CPU water-blocks which are recognized as the best performing water-blocks on the market, the Stealth unique design approach focuses cooling where it is most needed: at the GPU level; with its extended wings covering the memory modules and NVIO chip, the massive aluminum housing also maintains the lowest possible temperature of these surface mount components; this allows in effect for the most advanced overclocking techniques which are necessary to take core and memory frequencies well beyond factory specifications.

On-Die watercoolers could reincarnate in graphics card solutions

On-Die also known as Direct-Die cooling got quite popular a couple of years ago. Watercooling addicts tried to get the best out of their selfmade cooling units and found water spilling around the CPU die itself to be competitive solution. But the obvious hurdles with leakage and complicated maintenance prevented companies from incorporating this technology.
However, I came across an interesting piece of information that reveals MSI has plans to sell special NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX cards with an On-Die watercooling setup. Afterall it sounds quite unbelievable especially if you take a look at the second picture which shows the cooling unit at a higher resolution. But MSI clearly said so if the guys from HardTecs didn't mess with the translation. I will get in contact with them and see how they respond.
If we assume this is indeed an On-Die cooler then I would direct your attention to the last picture at the end of this post. This shows a watercooled R600 card and the pump, hoses and general appearance look very similar to the aforementioned 8800GTX board. Sadly both cards aren't available yet so the time will tell what exactly we are looking at here.

Nvidia's 8950GX2 gets a block

Even before the 8950GX2 card hits the stores, blocks are already starting to appear. The Inquirer managed to snap a few shots of Alphacool's block, ready to cool the beast:

The block covers everything: GPU, RAM, NVIO1 chip, PWM...

The block looks very thin, which brings up concerns over its restriction/performance. Alphacool has produced some highly restrictive blocks in the past.Source: The Inq

Asetek's new GPU watercooler pictured

Asetek which got quite famous with their phase change (aka 'vapor compression') coolers shows off their latest GPU cooler for water cooled setups at the CeBIT. As usual one of The Inquirers was a tad faster and so we got hold of the picture. Basically this cooler is aimed for the OEM market and there will be a G80 model (which got pictured) and a R600 one. Because of it's being partly air- (PCB and RAM) and partly water-cooled (GPU) it consumes a lot of room, the card together with the cooler will end up covering 2 slots.Source: TheInquirer
