TP-LINK Launches Outdoor Wireless Access Point for Long-Range Wi-Fi

TP-LINK today launched the 802.11a/n Wi-Fi compatible TP-LINK Pharos CPE510 outdoor wireless access point - a 5GHz 300Mbps 13dBi CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) - for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage applications. Outdoor wireless access points can provide WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) coverage over great distances to homes or cottages without cable/DSL services; campus and multiple buildings; point-to-point links between office buildings; and at remote job sites in industries such as oil and gas, mining, and construction.

Extricom 802.11ac Access Point Adds Gigabit Wireless Support to its WLAN Portfol

Extricom Ltd., the high-density enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) solution provider that delivers seamless mobility with its patented Channel Blanket architecture, today announced immediate availability of the RP-23ac, a dual radio access point designed for the latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard. Unlike most vendors' 802.11ac access points which are crippled by a lack of non-overlapping 80 MHz channels in the 5GHz band, Extricom's RP-23ac can be deployed without requiring any adjustment to the channel plan, or reconfiguration of other APs, to deliver on the performance promise of 802.11ac.

It is Extricom's unique single-channel architecture that makes it possible to fully exploit the increased performance and efficiency of 802.11ac, which can only be realized by using 80MHz bonded channels. With Extricom's interference-free Channel Blanket, only one clear 80MHz channel is needed to blanket an entire facility with a full-featured 11ac wireless network. In contrast, just as 802.11n is rendered useless at 2.4 GHz by too few non-overlapping channels, multi-channel architectures face the same channel-planning nightmare for 802.11ac with 80MHz channels. TP-Link Announces Dual-band 802.11 ac Range Extender

TP-LINK today announced the power wall-mountable Universal range extender: the TP-LINK RE200 AC750 Universal Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender. The sleek miniature device is designed to conveniently extend the coverage and improve the signal strength of an existing wireless network. The next-gen 802.11ac wireless range extender is designed to work with any Wi-Fi router and is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n and 802.11ac devices. Intel Core "Skylake" CPUs Accompanied by 100-series Chipset

Intel answered the burning question some of us had about what the desktop chipset that succeeds the 9-series will be named. For now, Intel is referring to it as "100-series," on early internal roadmap documents scored by VR-Zone. Much like the current 9-series, 100-series will consist of a single PCH silicon, from which several variants will be carved out by toggling features.

There will be four primary kinds of "Skylake" packages, SLK-S, which will be socketed LGA; SLK-U, which will likely be compact, ultra-low power BGA, for Ultrabooks; SLK-Y, which will probably be mainstream BGA for compact desktops and all-in-ones; and SLK-H, which will likely be mainstream BGA for conventional notebooks. This generation of CPUs and PCHs, will also be accompanied by four kinds of wireless network controllers, depending on the target form-factor, "Snowfield Peak" Wi-Fi + Bluetooth, "Douglas Peak" WiGig + Bluetooth, "Pine Peak" WiGig, and XMM726x 4G LTE controllers; and "Jacksonville" GbE wired Ethernet controller. Thunderbolt standard will undergo an evolution with the company's "Alpine Ridge" controller.
