Team Group and HKEPC Set New SuperPi 1M Record

The leading global brand of memory module, Team Group Inc. has announced on the 23rd its joint cooperation with HKEPC Laboratory on the Super PI 1M project through the "TeamGrup ProjectX" memory module. By using rapidly LN2 cooling, a new world record of 5.078 seconds, for Super PI 1M has been set and beat the previous record which remained unbroken for 17 months, thus successfully reaching the top of the world.

The Super PI 1M was written by Prof. Yasumasa Kanada of the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1996 (Heisei 7 Years). Additionally, following the launch of Super PI 1.5 XS Mod by the U.S. XtremeSystems, it has become one of the major projects of the Overclocking World Records, making it one of the most widely used system measurement basis among PC users. The Super PI 1M is used to calculate circumference 220 square using Gauss-Legendre (i.e. pi to 1,000,000 places after the decimal number). Overclocking players from around the world compete by reducing the computation time as the goal and the computation time determines the performance of the processor. However, the time pulse and the low- latency time sequence of the memory module are crucial to the speed of computation.

New ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe Waterblock from Bitspower

Bitspower, the Taiwanese water cooling and modding specialist, recently launched the first water block designed for ASUS' previous generation mITX wonder board, the P8Z77-I Deluxe. While no longer the best mITX board on the market, the Haswell launch parade made sure of that, the P8Z77-I Deluxe did develop quite a following, particularly with the SFF crowd, selling in good numbers for its segment and making the rounds in a plethora of SFF projects that sprung on various enthusiast boards around the web.

The Bitspower AIZ77ITXD block makes use of high quality acrylic for the top cover and nickel plated copper for its base. The top cover comes in two versions, either transparent acrylic (Clear) or a semi-transparent black acrylic (ICE Black). The block's design approaches the full cover idea to a larger degree than any other motherboard block I've seen, accommodating all the heat generating components on the board, the CPU, the Z77 chipset and the vertical VRM as well. A design concept that Bitspower refers to as Unibody Style Construction Design (U.S.C.).

Corsair Unleashes Vengeance Extreme, the World's Fastest Rated PC Memory Kits

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC hardware market, today announced new Vengeance Extreme 8GB dual-channel DDR3 memory kits rated at 3000MHz, the world's fastest rated production PC memory kits. Fitted with low profile "racing red" heat spreaders, the new 2x4GB memory kits operate at 3000 MHz air-cooled, with latency settings of 12-14-14-36, at 1.65V. A Kingpin Cooling memory cooler is included for overclockers who want to use LN2 (liquid nitrogen) to reach memory speeds well beyond 3000 MHz.

The extreme-speed 3000 MHz rating of the Vengeance Extreme memory kits is the result of a rigorous internal four-stage hand-screening process performed by Corsair engineers. This process is passed by fewer than one in 50 memory ICs. Performance qualification is performed on select Intel Z77 based motherboards, including the ASUS P8Z77-I DELUXE and ASRock Z77 OC Formula. To hit their rated speeds, the modules require a 3rd Generation Intel Core unlocked processor with an Integrated Memory Controller capable of running 3000 MHz.

MSI G-Series Motherboard Teased

A little earlier today, MSI announced it would be integrating the Bigfoot Killer NIC, a latency optimized network controller that is designed to help online gaming, into some of its gaming notebooks and motherboards. We're hearing that MSI plans to carve out an entirely new gamer-centric motherboard brand extension, along the lines of ASUS Republic of Gamers, Gigabyte G1.Killer, and ASRock Fatal1ty series. MSI transferred branding over from its G-Series gaming notebooks over to create the new motherboard series, one of which was teased to the press earlier today.

Pictured below is a section of a new socket LGA1155 G-Series motherboard. According to sources, the board pictured below looks essentially identical to the Z77A-GD65, with a few obvious changes: color scheme changed to black and red with swanky VRM and chipset heatsinks; and Bigfoot Killer E2200 network controller by Qualcomm-Atheros. The NIC works to minimize latency to game servers, and lets you prioritize available bandwidth to specific apps. One could expect MSI's G-Series motherboard line to be out by Cebit (March, 2013), with a lot more of such teasers along the way.
