LG Introduces the First Real Streaming Multimedia Cloud for all Three Screens

LG Electronics (LG) announced the beta opening of LG Cloud service on May 1 with the aim of providing seamless connectivity and streaming access to all digital content across various electronic devices. Although cloud is today's hottest IT buzzwords, LG Cloud is the first that allows users to manage and consume all types of content on "three screens" which includes Android smartphones, PCs and smart TVs (including but not limited to CINEMA 3D models) without a separate set-top box.

To use the service, users need to download the LG Cloud app from Google Play or LG SmartWorld app store from their Android smartphones, LG SmartWorld store from their LG Smart TVs or the LG Cloud website from their PCs or laptops. LG's Cloud service automatically synchronizes smartphone content with the cloud server and the user's PC and TV. Photos and videos taken with the smartphone can be viewed and streamed to the PC or TV almost instantaneously. Videos edited on a PC can be uploaded to LG Cloud for viewing seconds later on a smartphone. Unlike other cloud services, there's very little waiting or lag time since the content is streamed to the TV, PC or smartphone, not downloaded first.

NVIDIA Unveils GeForce Experience

NVIDIA unveiled GeForce Experience, a new cloud-based technology that assesses PC hardware and tweaks settings of games to deliver the most optimal gaming experience. GeForce Experience goes a step beyond today's System Requirements Labs applets, and assesses hardware at a much more minute scale, sends information back to a data center that houses supercomputers, which methodically build the perfect game settings for each GPU, CPU, motherboard, and drivers configuration.

Speaking at GeForce LAN Shanghai, NVIDIA president and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said that PC games require a greater knowledge about the capabilities of the system than required by consoles. To get the most out of PC games, gamers need to dig into its settings and tweak them to work best with the hardware available, and that could be a disadvantage compared to consoles.

Aerohive Networks Ships BR200 Router

Aerohive Networks, the pioneer in cloud-enabled enterprise networking infrastructure, today announced the general availability of its newest addition to the Branch on Demand solution – the BR200. Building on the success of its BR100, announced last November, Aerohive’s BR200 ushers in an era of rapid time-to-revenue and operation for retail stores, long-term healthcare facilities, and mid-market and commercial enterprises with highly dispersed remote locations that have little to no IT support.

Aerohive’s Branch on Demand solution leverages the Aerohive Cloud Services Platform to automate remote provisioning and deployment and provide enterprise class network visibility and remote remediation capabilities that would normally be expected in much more expensive and complex solutions. It also delivers HQ-like network experience and corporate policy enforcement to every user regardless of location or device at a cost that allows it to scale to hundreds or thousands of branch offices or remote locations. With the release of the BR200, retail outlets and larger enterprise branches for the first time have an ideal solution for rapid deployment of highly secure, repeatable branch networks.
