SteelSeries Introduces The Rival Optical Gaming Mouse

Buffalo to Release New, Windows 8.1-Ready Wireless Mouse

By the end of this month Buffalo will be releasing a new peripheral, the BSMBW09 Series wireless mouse. This model measures 73 x 107 x 40 mm and features 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity, a Blue LED sensor with a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi, a scroll wheel and four buttons including two side buttons for quick access to the Windows 8.1 Start Screen and Charms Bar.

Buffalo's mouse can offer up to 134 hours of continuous use on a single battery and comes in six color versions - black, white, silver, blue, red and pink. The BSMBW09 is set to cost 3,465 yen (~ 35 USD).

Gigabyte Rolls Out the Aivia Uranium Wireless Gaming Mouse

Gigabyte Technology has now officially released a new Aivia Series peripheral, the Aivia Uranium gaming mouse which features wireless (2.4 GHz) connectivity and comes bundled with a device called the GHOST Macro Station. The station is equipped with an OLED display and allows the user to view and change the mouse's DPI value and report rate, to re-assign macro hotkeys, and to check battery life. Moreover, it has a cable that will power the mouse if its batteries (two AA batteries are required) are running low.

As for the actual mouse, it measures 130 (L) x 78 (W) x40(H) mm and has a 'Twin-eye' laser sensor (maximum DPI is 6500), 10 programmable buttons with a lifespan of 10 million clicks, a DPI switch, a 4-dimentional scroll wheel, and a matte black finish.

The Aivia Uranium can be found priced at €79.90.

Logitech Releases the Wireless Mouse M560

Logitech has now introduces the M560, a wireless mouse that comes equipped with a Windows 8 menu button, located right under the scroll wheel , enabling quick access to the App Bar, Charms Bar, Desktop and Start Screen.

Coming in two color version - black and gray, the mouse features soft, rubber grips, two thumb buttons, and requires one AA battery to power it up. The Wireless Mouse M560 is bundled with a Nano receiver, it has a three-year warranty, and it costs $ 39.99.

Douglas Engelbart Passes Away

Douglas Engelbart, the computing visionary who saw a future in the graphical user interface (GUI), and co-developed the modern mouse, passed away. He was 88. Engelbart conducted most of his work at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), and his team's most noted work laid the foundation of the GUI and windowed multi-tasking as we know today. Among his inventions are windowed GUI, the mouse as we know it, hypertext (text on the screen that you click to perform a function), and networked computers. Cooler Master Announces CM Storm Havoc Gaming Mouse

Zalman ZM-M40IR Gaming Mouse Pictured

Zalman showed off its newest high-end gaming mouse, the ZM-M40IR. Corsair Expands PC Gaming Peripherals Lineup

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance PC gaming hardware, today announced the addition of four gaming keyboards and two gaming mice to the company's Vengeance and Raptor Gaming lines.

Vengeance K70 Gaming Keyboards - Now with Cherry MX Brown or Cherry MX Blue Key Switches. In March, Corsair released the Vengeance K70 fully mechanical gaming keyboard with Cherry MX Red key switches designed for gamers who prefer a hair trigger key response. To meet the demand of users who prefer a different key feel, Corsair has expanded the K70 line to include two new versions equipped with Cherry MX Blue and Cherry MX Brown key switches. Both switch types require slightly more finger pressure to trigger and provide a more distinct tactile feel, with the Cherry MX Brown switches providing a less audible click.
