Overclocking

Overclocking tests were performed by well known finnish overclocker Sami Maekinen, better known as macci.

ATI's RD580 chipset is able to handle a HTT speed up to ~320MHz. This is pretty much what we saw during our testing of the ASUS RD580 motherboard. While this number may not sound very impressive to the hardcore overclockers, it is still impressive considering that there was no voltage increase involved and the chipset has been passively cooled.

You can not just increase CPU power and performance scales accordingly. Usually you get diminishing returns because other components in the system turn into a bottleneck. With Crossfire XPRESS3200 this effect is considerably smaller than on the competition.
