Advanced Bios is just like in any other BIOS. Interesting here is the option to turn off the full screen logo.


On a subpage you can configure several CPU parameters. When overclocking, it helps to disable C1E, for example.


Advanced CMOS is home to the memory timings configuration for the chipset. The "By SPD" option uses the information from the SPD chip on the memory module to pick good default timings for your memory. If you want to tweak this some more, you can switch to user defined and set your own parameters.


Onboard PCI has the settings for all additional devices ABIT has put on the motherboard, for example the SATA controllers and the 1394 Adapter.

There's nothing interesting to configure on these three pages. Everything is just like in any other BIOS. I prefer to disable the floppy controller in the BIOS since I never use a floppy anyways.


A very nice feature is that you can store profiles inside your BIOS which can be recalled easily. The settings are even preserved over a CMOS reset. It is a good idea to put your customized default settings here so that you can quickly recall them when having to reset the CMOS after a failed overclock.
