Value and Conclusion

  • The AirLive WL-2000CAM retails for around $200.
  • Abundance of features
  • Relatively easy to setup
  • Sophisticated motion detection
  • Not that expensive
  • Comes with a good mounting kit
  • Wireless
  • Can be accessed with a 3G phone
  • No autofocus
  • No motor to cover bigger area
  • So so video performance
8.5 The AirLive WL-2000CAM does what it is supposed to do at a reasonable price. Compared to other cameras with the same feature set the price is not all that bad, plus it is quite easy to configure once you spend some time learning the web interface. The wireless capabilities are a nice touch as well since it makes it easy to implement because all you have to do is find a power socket for it. With the WL-2000CAM you get a good setup with a reasonably well performing camera, a good wall mount and the ability to stream video to all sorts of devices. Even though I do not have a 3G cellphone I can imagine that feature being handy since you can log on and see what is going on at home when you are on a business trip or at work.
