| 7.6 | Akasa has made a very light and ergonomic notebook cooler. The Gemini is made completely of plastic, which makes the given shape a possibilty. Akasa describes the notebook cooler as being ergonomic, which is certainly true as long as you are using it with a smaller notebook. A large, 15 or 15.4 inch notebook is simply to large to slide back far enough to make use of the gentle curve in front of the unit as a palm rest. The Gemini is cheaper than other products, which may make it easy to look past the construction quality and the hollow underside, but not past the almost non-existant benefit of the two fans. While they are quiet, they do not push enough air at all. This means that there is almost no drop in temperature within the notebook. The only functional benefit is the angle of the notebook, which makes typing a bit easier, but if this is the only requirement a passive notebook cooler should do just fine. |
