Value and Conclusion

  • The Cooler Master Centurion 540 can be had at around $50 US Dollars, which is quite cheap for such a nice case. I tried finding the case somewhere in the European Union, but it was nowhere to be found.
  • Great cooling possibility
  • Very good internal layout
  • No sharp edges
  • ATX power supply fits without problems
  • Very good paint job and build quality
  • Very sturdy and good looking front
  • Removable hard drive cage
  • Front LEDs blue
  • Front IO shield replaceable (to add Firewire plug)
  • Large CPU HSFs fit
  • Thumb screws for side panel
  • Drives can be mounted without screws
  • Great manual
  • Air duct included
  • Internal 3.5 inch bays cannot be used for hard drives
  • Front fan position not very effective for hard drive cooling
  • Front IO does not sport Firewire, sold separately
  • Mainboard expansion slot covers very loose, require screws
  • Unique front panels may not fit
9.1The Cooler Master Centurion 540 does not only look good. There is much more than meets the eye. Installation is a breeze and the user does not need to worry about cutting themselves. The brushed aluminum front is very well made and looks very nice withe the black & silver contrast. The inside of the case is spacious enough to fit your mATX board with a large CPU cooler without any problems. While the hard drive cage is a nice addition, making the installation of the drives very simple, the fan above the hard drives is not a very effective way to cool them down. The possible dual 8 cm fan setup in the back, should be perfect for a radiator of that size. Anyone looking to use water cooling in a mATX case: this is the perfect one for you. The PSU does not interfere with the optical drives, and there is ample space for larger units. Cooler Master has managed to create a case with a very small price tag, but with the quality we have learned to love from them. I can recommend the case to anyone on a budget, wanting mATX, good look, great quality without breaking the bank.
