Riding on the established performance and popularity of their 2 GB dual channel XMS2 lineup, they have managed to continue that tradition in the realm of 4 GB dual channel kits and boosting it with the Dominator Series of kits. While this kit is rated to run at 2.1V, it easily managed 852 MHz with CL4 timings at only 1.8V. On the other end, 1206 MHz was achieved at CL5 by cranking up the voltage to 2.4V. Surprisingly this kit was capable of 800 MHz at CL3 with a mild voltage boost to 2.2V, a great option for someone not wanting to push the speed limits yet still get a more responsive system. This kit managed to scale quite similarly and in many cases better than other kits in its class while maintaining a very median MSRP. With very little work, they can be run at settings that would cost significantly more to receive stock. From their great scaling and overclocking to their well designed DHX cooling technology, the Corsair Dominator TWIN2X4096-8500C5D provides a great value at $125.00 USD. |
