| 9.6 | Danger Den has produced an extremely high performance block for those that need it. The choice of materials is excellent, the fit and finish is brilliant, the packaging is protective and the performance is mind boggling. I can tell that a lot time and hard work has gone into designing this block (and all its predecessors). The Maze 5 is truly a legend among water blocks. It is nice to see that Danger Den has gone that one step further, leak testing every block before it leaves the factory, and providing it with pre-installed barbs. It saves users precious time when installing the block, you do not have to check it several times, and adjust it if you got the barbs installed wrong and they are leaking. I am completely satisfied with this product, except for one small issue. The mounting mechanism of the block is excellent, just not particularly versatile – it is compatible with most of today’s graphic cards, but we can only hope that video card manufacturers will stick to the mounting layout they have used in the past – this block is not compatible with the GeForce 8800 series, partly because of the base, but mostly because of the mounting mechanism, which does not have holes in the same position as the 8800 core. In this matter, Swiftech’s solution has the edge. If you’re sure that the block will fit on the card you plan to use it with, I can only recommend this waterblock. |
