A closer look

The red heatspreaders are made from aluminum and look great. They feel quite light but seem to do a good job. Even under heavy load the memory gets only mild warm.

No, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't throw your memory away. This symbol stands for a product which is compliant to the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive). This European Union directive (not a law) takes effect on July 1st, 2006. It restricts the use of six materials types for use in electronic and electrical equipment.

The sticker tells you the rated speed and timings. I think a voltage recommendation should be added here as well.

The #808 Brainpower PCB is used by almost all DDR Modules, from many manufacturers. This PCB is among the best on the market.
