The Card

The cooler on the HIS HD 3870 is the IceQ3 cooler that looks very similar to an Arctic Cooling Silencer, but is not made by AC. Total height of the card is two slots, just like almost all other HD 3870 offerings.


The output configuration follows today's standard. Two DVI ports are available, both are dual link capable, so you can run two 2560x1600 displays at once. In case you still have an old analog VGA monitor you can connect it using the included DVI to VGA adapter. Also included with the package is an HDMI adapter that lets you connect your HD TV set directly to the card with full support for HDMI+HDCP+Audio. Gold plated connectors have no effect on the signal quality, but they look nice and will be slightly more durable than the normal ones.
