7.3The Icemat 2nd Edition is a completely different approach to making a gaming surface. The company tries to tame glas to make it usable with modern mice, as it is long lasting and has a very good surface texture. If you want to have complete choice of color or want to have a silver pad to match the rest of your desktop you will be happy to know that the Icemat 2nd Edition is available in these colors among others. While the surface works well with optical mice, it is loud even with the glide pads, which could drive you or your roomate crazy over time. The other problem arises in combination with laser mice, which simply are not usable with glas surfaces, not even with the Icemat 2nd Edition. Icemat has given this a shot and while it is usable, glass is simply not meant to be used as a gaming surface.
