A Closer Look

Standing up proud and pretty tall, the HyperX Predator DIMMs really make a statement, even if only by their size. Like with other Hyper-X DIMMs, both sides are identical except for the label on one side. Again, that label doesn't, as is the norm for Kingston, carry too much information; however, much more can be found by looking those numbers up on Kingston's global website.

Built out of two solid chunks of anodized aluminum that meet in a grouping of fins at the top, the heatsink that wraps around the HyperX Predator nearly doubles the DIMMs in height. A black-colored metal "X" also covers each side.

I checked the ends of the PCBs looking for identifying marks that might help me with clocking, and I was met with success this time! These are Samsung-made PCBs, which means that they likely have Samsung ICs underneath! Those that are into RAM clocking will know what Samsung ICs can offer, and many will seek them out purposefully, so I was definitely pleased to find these markings. Do note, however, that I, in checking other reviews out there, found these particular sticks to not always be made out of Samsung ICs, so this might be something that is specific to certain batches. Such is of course always the case when looking for sticks to overclock.
