Test Setup
In order to give you a comparative view on the performance differences between Quad SLI and ATI's Crossfire, we got two identical systems. Only the motherboard is different, and of course the video cards.
Quad-SLI system
- AMD Athlon FX-60 2600 MHz
- Zalman CNPS9500LED
- ASUS A8N32
- 2x 512 MB DDR Corsair
- WD1500 150 GB HDD
- 2x NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GX2
- Cooler Master Stacker RC-830
- Windows XP SP2, Forceware 87.24 (the GX2 retail driver)
- Apple 30" HD TFT, 2560x1600 max. resolution
This system was bought from German computer retailer Arlt, for a price of around € 5000 (= ~6300 USD, including 16% VAT).
CrossFire system
