OCZ Behemoth Regulator Mousepad Review

Value & Conclusion »

Performance

Before we get into the details here, let me point out the fact, that testing mice and mouse pads along with some other input devices is a purely subjective matter to some extend. You will find users who love a mouse or input device, which many others would never touch. We try to give you the objective rundown on this page, leaving it up to you - the reader - if the features, feel and performance meets your personal criteria.

That said, using the Behemoth Regulator Mouse pad is as expected. There are way to many mouse pads out there to count and the Behemoth falls right into that large bunch of unsurprising versions. It is as thick as many others out there, feels just like many of them and the attributes do not stand out in any way. Using the pad with different mice from ball, optical and laser all works well. None of them skip or refuse to work on the Behemoth.

As for size, it is fairly large, which means that you should have enough space. During gaming sessions I found myself moving the mouse around a mere fraction of the available real estate. I am a so called "medium to high sensitivity" gamer. This translates into small movements of the mouse, which equate into large distances on screen. So I do not require a lot of surface area to game comfortably. OCZ currently only offers the Behemoth in a single size, which can be considered above average in dimension. This should make it good for low sensitivity gamers, which move the mouse further distances to achieve their movement on screen.

Those type of gamers may find the surface of the Behemoth a bit too rough for fast and long movements. I for my part was quite happy with it, as I did not need to push the mouse too far.

Overall the Behemoth does not offer any unique bells and whistles, but also does not cost you an arm and a leg. For those just getting their first surface specifically to improve their gaming experience, can grab the pad without hesitation. It is big enough for most, feels like most cloth pads out there and costs less than 8 Euros in Europe.
