A Closer Look

The QNAP QBack-25 has an aluminum top, the other sides are made from plastic.

A little button can be used to trigger the one-touch-backup function of the included backup software.

Since 2.5" HDDs do not require an extra power supply, the unit can be powered by USB only. There is no need for an external chunky power brick. In case your HDD does require a lot of power to run, you can use an AC adapter (not included) to power the unit. As long as you use fairly modern HDDs this will not be needed.

This nice leather-like-looking protective cover can be used to protect your QBack-25 from scratches during transportation. You can connect the unit to the system without taking the QBack-25 out of the cover.

This is the PCB inside the unit, it is fairly simple. All the special features like AES encryption are implemented in the included backup software.
