Overclocking

To find the maximum overclock of our card we used a combination of internal AMD software, ATITool and our benchmarking suite.



The final overclocks of our card are 850 MHz Core (6 % overclock) and 1242 MHz Memory (8 % overclock). Both overclocks are quite slim, but look better when viewed in contrast to the HD 3870 reference clocks of 777/1126. Then they are 9% and 10%.

Temperatures

For a single slot cooler, the temperatures are great. I would have preferred higher temperatures for a quieter fan though. Nevertheless the Vapor-X cooling technology is working great and gives Sapphire the benefit of having a product (single slot HD 3870) that nobody else can offer.
