Spire is mostly known for their cases, but over the last couple of years they have put an increasingly amount of effort into conquering the external hard drive enclosure market. Most of their enclosures have a sleek metal design and give the user a lot of good features at a relatively low price. Today I will be taking a look at one of these bang-for-the-buck enclosures. It's called the MegaPOD III IDE and is Spire's newest addition to their mid-range enclosure lineup. There are a couple variations of the MegaPOD III, the one I will be focusing on today is the SP151 variant that only supports USB connectivity and IDE drives. Even though it's am IDE native solution, the enclosure supports up to 800 GB hard drives.
