Durability

The durability of the Ikari Optical is pretty much the same as the laser version, however, since the optical does not have the LCD display there are less features on the mouse that can break over time. Everything else besides sensor and shell color is the same as on the laser version and therefore they will have about the same lifespan. The Teflon feet are nice and will probably last for a very long time. The buttons are firm and seem quite tough, the same goes for the cover coating.

Comfort

Both Ikari mice are extremely comfortable to use. The ergonomics are spot on for most people. Compared to recent offerings from both Microsoft, Razer and Logitech, the Ikari mice have the edge when it comes to comfort. The size and shape of the shell will enable almost everybody to get a good and comfortable experience while using one of the Ikari mice. Ergonomics is generally one of the things that is hard to get right. The fact that SteelSeries have managed to do exactly that with their first line of mice is nothing short of spectacular.
