Packaging

The Tuniq TX-2 compound comes in a clear plastic bag that has some specifications on the back. The bag is easy to open by lifting the flap on the bottom, instead of needing to cut the package open.

The TX-2 comes in a large syringe with a screw-on cap that is easy to remove and replace.

A Closer Look

Since our readers will want to know how this compound performs compared to others, it is only natural to include the popular favorite, Arctic Silver 5. Since this compound could replace the original TX-1 compound found in the Tuniq heatsinks, the TX-1 compound has been included as well. It should be noted that, even though the tubes are different sizes, the AS5 and the TX-2 both contain 3.5g of compound. The TX-1 is only 1.5g and not available for sale by itself.

Here the three compounds have been squirted onto a sheet of paper. Many are familiar with the thick consistency of the Arctic Silver. The TX-2 is somewhat thinner and easier to work with, especially when spreading it out. The TX-1 compound seemed wet when applied, but when spread it out, it was dry like putty, making it much more difficult to apply and control.
