Performance

Performance was tested with every possible connection combination using a SATA Drive. The entire PCB is constructed so that there is no way to break your drive or burn anything when plugging in both USB 2.0 and eSATA at once.

USB 2.0

A Samsung 80GB SATA drive was used for our performance tests.

No matter how many times the HDTach benchmark was run, the scores were identical. The reason for the doubt was the burst speed of over 70MB/s. The USB 2.0 performance at 33.1MB/s is the second fasted, with the Coolermaster X-Craft still taking the crown.

The Samsung 80GB SATA drive can barely deliver the speed of the USB 2.0 interface at the outer rims of the platter during the HDTach benchmark. The small dips are not noticeable and do not affect USB 2.0 performance.

The ATTO results are quite similar and the read and write speeds are almost identical as well.

eSATA

The Vizo Uranus delivers very close to normal SATA performance. This is expected of eSATA enclosures.
