Durability

I've tried to hurt this mat with my keyboard and other items I have on my desk, but I was unsuccessful, this mat is one of the most durable I have ever had the privilege to have on my desk. You can stretch it, but it always retracts after you release it.

I also decided to perform the spillage test on this mat.

As you can see from the picture this mat has trouble when it comes to spillage, but it seems to dry up a bit better when you press the fabric.
After a while it dried up, but if it had been cola and not water I can say for sure that the mat's surface would have been damaged. So once again there is no solution to the Achilles heel of all cloth mats.

This mat is actually quite hard to clean because the surface texture has a sort of velcro effect with dust. I cleaned it twice in a week, but I was unable to get the dust completely out of the cloth. This mat can't be cleaned that well at all, and I’m all out of ideas. Even though it's hard to clean, the effect of dust on the mat isn't really a problem. It doesn’t make noise like the Icemat and the friction isn't that much bigger covered with dust.

As I commented earlier in my review the mat seems to stretch a bit while moving the mouse around, but this doesn't affect the durability, only gaming performance.

Value & Conclusion

  • The XTracPads Ripper XXL will be sold for $35, including Teflon and case badge. This price is very good for a mat this size and performance. The size to price ratio is unrivalled.

8.0I really like the concept of this mat, and the accessories it comes with. It has a decent price. Remembering that you get high quality teflon included in the package. The only thing that is keeping this mat from getting top score in this review is the speed and gaming performance. The mat performs nicely when it comes to control, but I don't think that this makes up for its medium gaming performance. The size is also a big plus for this mat.
