Installation

Xigmatek used the same mounting methods for its new 1283 cooler as all of its previous coolers.

For AMD systems it's just a matter of using a single clip and lining up the cooler. It is a very simple method, though as I have said in all previous reviews of this method; sometimes it can be a pain to line the cooler and clip up, especially if you're mounting the cooler with everything in the case already - which is the case most of the time.

For Intel based systems two mounts have to be screwed to the cooler as previously shown. Once they are on, the cooler lines up with the four cooler mounting holes on the motherboard and clips into place.

The 1283 has plenty of clearance from the motherboard's cradle which is good. As you can see, it does not extend beyond the mainboard edges, which should make installation in midtowers without the extra headroom above the board a possibilty.
