NZXT rolled out Sentry Mix 2, the second generation of its audio mixing equipment-inspired fan controller. The Sentry Mix 2 features six fan channels, controlled by six independent analog sliders. NZXT made the sliders broader, and gave each an LED-backlit label. There are five color options for these LEDs that can be chosen from. The sliders aren't just rheostats, they also support PWM. The controller features six 4-pin outputs, for fans that support PWM control methods. The controller can supply each fan with up to 30W of power, drawing a maximum of 180W. The Sentry Mix 2 fits into a standard 5.25-inch drive bay, drawing power from up to two 4-pin Molex connectors. Available in just the black color option for now, the Sentry Mix 2 features a matte-black bezel with glossy-black sliders. NZXT didn't reveal pricing or availability.

Cooler Master showed off a trio of air-cooling solutions at CeBIT, which includes the TPC 612 and V8 GTS CPU coolers, and JetFlo 120 case fans. The TPC 612 is a compacted version of the TPC 812. It retains the design concept of its older sibling, that of a heatpipe-fed aluminum fin stack that also uses a vapor-chamber tube for more efficient heat transfer; while using just four heat pipes, and a more compact vapor-chamber tube. Measuring 145 x 97 x 161.6 mm (WxDxH, including the fan), it weighs about 640 g. It uses a single 120 mm PWM fan that spins in the range of 600 to 2,000 RPM, pushing 24.9 to an impressive 82.9 CFM of air. The TPC 612 is compatible with all modern CPU socket types.

Moving on, the V8 GTS is Cooler Master's latest monstrosity, one that is designed to take on pre-assembled closed-loop liquid CPU coolers. It uses a triple independent aluminum fin stack design, which is ventilated by a pair of 140 mm fans. An unknown (we're guessing six) number of 6 mm-thick nickel plated copper heat pipes convey heat from the base through the three fin stacks. Measuring a whopping 154 x 149 x 160 mm, it weighs 1,140 g. Each of its two 140 mm fans uses a 4-pin PWM connection, spins at 600 to 1,600 RPM, pushing 28 to 82 CFM of air. Japanese peripherals maker Scythe announced a pair of cost-effective 140 mm fans, the SlipStream 140XT and the 140XT PWM. The 140XT (3-pin, non-PWM) is available in four variants based on their top speeds, the 500 RPM SM1425XT12SL, the 800 RPM SM1425XT12L, the 1200 RPM SM1425XT12M, and the 1700 RPM SM1425XT12H. The 140XT PWM (4-pin PWM connector), comes in just the one flavor, the 1300 RPM SM1425XT12M-P. Both fans feature the same basic-looking design, measuring 140 x 140 x 25 mm, with square frames that feature mount-holes for both 140 mm and 120 mm fan-size standards. Both feature 500 mm-long cables for those hard to reach headers on your motherboard, and sleeved bearings that yield 30,000 hours MTBF.

The SM1425XT12SL has a speed tolerance level of ±30%, can push 27.2 CFM of air at its rated speed of 500 RPM, with a noise output of 9.6 dBA. The SM1425XT12L tolerates ±20%, pushes 43.5 CFM of air, with a noise output of 14.3 dBA. The SM1425XT12M pushes 65.2 CFM of air, with a noise output of 23.2 dBA. Hot on the heels of the NT06-PRO and NT01-PRO CPU cooler launches, SilverStone unveiled the SST-FHP141, a 140 mm high-flow fan. Measuring 140 x 140 x 38 mm, with mount-hole spacing of 120 mm, the fan features a 7-blade high-flow impeller, with rotational speeds ranging between 500 and 2,000 RPM. The fan supports PWM control, and features a 4-pin power connector. A small switch on the fan lets you select between two speed-ranges, P (performance) and Q (quiet). The Q (quiet) mode limits the fan's speed to 1,200 RPM.

Thermal Solutions specialist GELID Solutions reveals the "Slim 12 UV Blue" and the "Slim 12 PL Blue" fans of its GAMER product line.

Engineers at GELID Solutions go slim and have created two slim profile fans (120 x 120 x 15.8 mm) with surprisingly high cooling performance. The "Slim 12 UV Blue" fan comes with an UV reactive blue impeller and has a fixed rpm speed of 1500. The "Slim 12 PL Blue" also comes with a blue impeller but includes a high-quality PWM control for a rpm range of 900-1600.

Does your case have too many fan vents? If so, you'll find this accessory, which cropped up from deep within the bi-lanes of Tokyo's Akihabara district handy. The PA-044 from peripherals maker Ainex covers unused 120 mm and 140 mm fan vents firmly with standard screws. It is made of 0.8 mm-thick sheet of steel, and should block out noise from within the case, and serve as an anti-dust measure. According to the source, it should begin shipping from mid-November. AeroCool unveiled the SilentMaster 200 mm LED case fan series. Available in red and blue, the fan measures 200 x 200 x 20 mm, with a 154 mm distance between adjacent bolts. With a voltage range of 9-12V, the fan draws up to 3W of power. It spins at 800 ± 200 RPM, pushing up to 76 CFM of air, with up to 18 dBA noise output. The impeller uses 11 shark-fin inspired transparent blades, with LEDs fixed on the frame. According to the company, the SilentMaster 200 mm LED fans will be available in mid-October.

Japanese Cooling expert Scythe expands the recently announced GlideStream fan series by new 140 mm models. Similar to 120 mm models, Glide Stream 140 mm fans stand for further development of the award winning Scythe Slip Stream 140 fans. With a smaller center hub and bigger fan blades optimum airflow at low operation noise are accomplished. In addition new grooved blade design has been used to further improve the aerodynamics to reduce air resistance.

To further reduce the noise level new anti-vibration feature has been implemented which is one of the key-feature of the Scythe GlideStream series. All four mounting holes of the GlideStream 140 mm fans are equipped with a rubber pad-inlay. Transfer of vibrations from the operating fan to the PC Chassis or CPU Cooler can be significantly reduced thanks to the new rubber pad-inlays.

SilverStone Technology has just announced a couple of new, high-performance case fans, the FN121-P with an all-black coating and the transparent, LED-equipped FN121-P-L series. These 120 mm fans are built on the design of the FN121 and FM121 models and feature 9 blades and a frame geometry that's claimed to improve performance and reduce noise level.

The FN121-P and FN121-P-L operate at 1200 RPM (+/-200 RPM), they have a sound output of up to 25.15 dBA, and an airflow of 58.47 CFM. Both will become available at the end of this month. The FN121-P will cost 4.20 Euro while the FN121-P-L models (FN121-P-BL with blue LEDs, FN121-P-RL with red LEDs, FN121-P-GL with green LEDs, FN121-P-WL with white LEDs) will go for 7.10 Euro (not including taxes).

Japanese cooling expert Scythe is hereby announcing the brand new case fan series by the name Glide Stream 120. Scythe Glide Stream 120 mm fan series stands for the further development of the very popular Scythe Slip Stream 120 fan series but will not replace it. In the development process various improvements and new features have been added to the new fan series.

Most of the new improvements are in plain view. Scythe Glide Stream 120 mm fan blades have been modified and firstly make use of the new grooved blade design. Hence allows the reduction of air resistance and therefore achieving lower operating noise. Furthermore a new anti-vibration feature was added. All four mounting holes of the Glide Stream 120 mm fans are equipped with a rubber pad-inlay. Transfer of vibrations from the operating fan to the PC Case or CPU Cooler can be significantly reduced thanks to the new rubber pad-inlays.

Prolimatech announced a unique new accessory that makes it easier to attach fans to metal cases, at least those made of steel (and not aluminum). The Magnetic Pin is a conventional rubber fan bolt with a magnet on its head. This allows fans with four of these to snap onto cases' fan frames. The magnet is embedded into a rubber cavity, which dampens vibrations between the fan and the case, minimizing noise. Prolimatech is selling these pins in sets of four. The company did not mention pricing.

EverCool launched its newest line of performance case fans with the Silent Shark Fan series, the first member of which, is the SSF-12. The 120 mm SSF-12 uses seven blades with sawtooth-shaped vanes at the ends, which work to increase air-flow, and the shape of which is inspired by shark gills. The impeller is suspended on what EverCool refers to as "ever lubricated" (EL) bearing.

The SSF-12 is designed to spin at speeds ranging between 800 and 1400 RPM ±15%, with noise output ranging between 19 and 26 dBA. It uses a conventional 120 x 120 x 25 mm opaque black frame. The fan uses a conventional 3-pin connector to draw power, and includes a rotary speed control module that spins it between its advertised speed range. It also includes white rubber bolts as alternatives to metal screws, which absorb vibrations and minimize noise.

External enclosures are a great way to have high capacity data storage on the go. Data can also be a critical factor for media, backup, or music professionals. Some of the top tier hard drive companies have made their own all in one enclosure with hard drive included. However, one of the known major causes of hard drive failure is due to excessive heat buildup caused by a lack of a proper cooling system. Also, a majority of hard drive manufactures only allow a 1 year warranty on their all in one external hard drives.

This can be fatal for someone who has just lost their data and has to spend a significant amount of money in order to recover their data.
