GIGABYTE Also Unveils Z87X-UD4H and Z87X-UD5H Motherboards

In addition to the Z87N-WiFi mini-ITX motherboard, GIGABYTE showed off a couple of its top ATX products from its mainline Z87X series, the Z87X-UD4H and Z87X-UD5H. The two mark GIGABYTE's complete breakaway from the blue color scheme, and lack the color even on their heatsinks. The Z87X-UD4H features a hot-rod red+silver+black color-scheme, while the Z87X-UD5H features gold+silver+black. Both boards are based on the company's Ultra Durable 5 construction. Both boards appear to offer overclocker-friendly features that are reserved for the high-end, such as redundant BIOS, diagnostic LEDs and measurement points for each power domain, and high-grade electrical components.

The Z87X-UD4H offers a 16-phase CPU power supply, three each of PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (electrical x16/x8/x4), PCI-Express 2.0 x1, and a legacy PCI. It offers eight internal SATA 6 Gb/s ports, two eSATA 6 Gb/s, ten USB 3.0 ports (six on the rear panel, four by headers), 8-channel HD audio, and display outputs that include DVI, D-Sub, HDMI, and DisplayPort. The Z87X-UD5H, on the other hand, offers the same 16-phase CPU VRM and the same expansion slot layout as its sibling, but tops it up with ten internal SATA 6 Gb/s ports, dual gigabit Ethernet, a second DVI connector instead of D-Sub, and FireWire (by header). The two will most likely be part of GIGABYTE's first wave of socket LGA1150 motherboards, and could be priced above $150.

GIGABYTE Joins the HD 7990 Party

Albeit a wee bit late, GIGABYTE joined the Radeon HD 7990 launch party with a card of its own (model: GV-R799D5-6GD-B). Pictured below, GIGABYTE's offering is no different from any of the HD 7990 cards launched this Wednesday, except the company decals on the card. It sticks to AMD reference clock speeds of 1000 MHz core, and 6.00 GHz memory, featuring 6 GB of it. The dual-GPU graphics card runs a pair of 28 nm "Tahiti" GPUs, each featuring 2048 stream processors, 128 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and 384-bit wide memory interfaces. The card draws power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, outputs include four mini-DisplayPort and a dual-link DVI. On par with every other card, GIGABYTE's HD 7990 will cost $999.

GIGABYTE Shows Off G-Power Accessory for GeForce GTX TITAN

With NVIDIA clamping restrictions on graphics card makers' ability to make custom design PCBs for its flagship GeForce GTX TITAN GPU, the likes of GIGABYTE are opting for the next best thing - creating accessories that enthusiasts can mod their GTX TITAN graphics cards with, at the cost of product warranties. A little earlier this month, the company unveiled its WindForce 450W VGA cooler, which is capable of handling GTX TITAN. At a more recent event, it showed of G-Power, a supplementary voltage regulation module, which is similar in principle to EVGA EPower and ASUS Matrix PWM.

The device is a small PCB with high-capacity power leads on one-end, which need to be soldered on to the reference GeForce GTX TITAN PCB, and a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors on the other. Between them is a 6+1 phase VRM, with components that appear similar to the ones used on GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 5 motherboards, consisting of 60A ferrite core chokes, International Rectifier PowIRstage IR3550 driver-MOSFETs, and International Rectifier IR3563A controller. The G-Power module stabilizes power on the GTX TITAN PCB, preventing voltage droop from breaking the overclock. There's no word on how GIGABYTE plans to sell these.

GIGABYTE Shows Off WindForce 450W VGA Cooling Solution

For those not sold on the looks and cooling performance of NVIDIA's reference design for the GeForce GTX Titan, GIGABYTE could have an alternative DIY cooling solution concept. The company is working on a new high-performance air graphics card cooler, which it could deploy on upcoming high-end graphics cards. Named WindForce 450W, the cooler is designed to handle thermal loads as high as 450W. GIGABYTE strapped it on to the GeForce GTX TITAN and GTX 680, to show it off, at its "New Idea Tech Tour" event held in Berlin.

WindForce 450W is a triple-slot graphics card cooler. It uses a pair of dense aluminum fin stacks to dissipate heat. Three thick (10 mm thick?) copper heat pipes convey heat to these stacks, which is drawn directly from the GPU die. The two stacks are ventilated by three 80 mm fans. When strapped to a GeForce GTX 680, GIGABYTE claims the cooler keeps its noise below 28.3 dB, with Furmark running. On the GTX Titan, it works to provide higher GPU Boost frequencies, or helps sustain set frequency offsets better. With NVIDIA clamping down restrictions on modifying reference design GeForce GTX TITAN (with exceptions for liquid-based custom cooling solutions), we won't see a card that combines the chip with WindForce 450W any time soon.

GIGABYTE Announces Aivia Neon Wireless Air-Presenter Mouse

GIGABYTE made an addition to its Aivia line of peripherals, with the Neon. The device combines the functionality of an air-presenter, and a mouse, in an ergonomic and wireless package. Such a design would save professionals the need to carry two separate devices. The Red Dot award-winning Aivia Neon measures 105 x 57 x 37 mm (WxHxD), weighing about 107 g (with battery), it is powered by a lithium-ion battery that charges up when the mouse is plugged in via USB. It transforms between wired- and wireless-modes.

The Aivia Neon features three main buttons, a scroll-wheel, three hotkeys, that can be programmed to transition slides and or elements within them. A small compartment on its side lets you tuck in its USB micro-receiver. The mouse also features a laser pointer to help with presentations.Grounded, the Aivia Neon functions as any other mouse, with 1,200 DPI tracking resolution. The company did not give out pricing or availability information.

GIGABYTE Announces its GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Graphics Card Series

GIGABYTE announced a pair of custom-design graphics cards based on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost, the N65TBWF2-2GD, which sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 980 MHz core, 1033 MHz GPU Boost, and 6008 MHz memory; and the factory-overclocked N65TBOC-2GD, which ships with 1033 MHz core, 1098 MHz GPU Boost, and 6008 MHz memory.

Both cards are based on a blue GIGABYTE custom-design PCB that uses an UltraDurable VGA construction; and a WindForce 2X parallel-inclined cooling solution, which uses a pair of 90 mm fans to ventilate a heatpipe-fed aluminum fin array. Based on the 28 nm GK106 silicon, the GeForce GTX 650 Ti from NVIDIA features 768 CUDA cores, and a 192-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 2 GB of memory. The N65TBWF2-2GD is expected to be priced around US $170, while the N65TBOC-2GD could scrape the $190 price point.

GIGABYTE Rolls Out Radeon HD 7790 with Triangle Cooling

GIGABYTE rolled out a pair of Radeon HD 7790 graphics cards, the GV-R779-1GI, which sticks to AMD reference clock speeds of 1000 MHz core and 6000 MHz memory, and the factory-overclocked GV-R779OC-1GI, featuring 1075 MHz core, and 6400 MHz memory. The two offer GIGABYTE's UltraDurable VGA PCB, and its Triangle Cool fan-heatsink that pairs a large 100 mm fan to a copper-embedded aluminum heatsink. Based on the 28 nm "Bonaire" silicon, the Radeon HD 7790 packs 896 stream processors, dual tessellation units, 56 TMUs, 16 ROPs, and a 128-bit GDDR5 memory interface holding 1 GB of memory; and a brand new dynamic-clock technology. The base model is priced at US $149.99, and the OC model at $159.99.

GIGABYTE Rolls Out Luxo K10 Case

GIGABYTE's newest PC case, the Luxo K10, is largely identical to its recently launched IF 400. The two have the same exact dimensions, inner chassis, the same panels, but differ with the front one. While the IF 400 features just two 5.25-inch bays, since it spends one on front-panel connectors, the Luxo K10 features four, with a completely perforated front. Its front-panel connectors are moved to the top, and consist of one USB 3.0 (type-A extension cable, not header), three USB 2.0 (standard headers), and HD audio. All other features, including ventilation, are identical to those of the IF 400. GIGABYTE did not give out pricing or availability information.

GIGABYTE Also Outs IF 400 Chassis

In addition to the C1007UN-D motherboard, GIGABYTE rolled out the IF 400 chassis for gaming PC builds. The ATX mid-tower measures 185 x 412 x 450 mm (WxDxH), and is made of 0.6 mm-thick SGCC steel and ABS. It gives you room for two 5.25-inch drives, both of which feature tool-free retention modules, and five 3.5/2.5-inch ones, of which two are tool-free. Ventilation is care of a 120 mm front intake, and a 120 mm rear exhaust, although there's provision for two 120 mm fans on the side-panel, and one on the bottom. GIGABYTE did not give out pricing information.

GIGABYTE Rolls Out C1007UN-D Mini-ITX Motherboard

GIGABYTE rolled out the C1007UN-D mini-ITX motherboard, for entry-level desktops. It ships with an Intel Celeron 1007U BGA processor hard-wired to the board, with a compatible fan-heatsink pre-installed. Based on the 22 nm "Ivy Bridge" micro-architecture, the 1007U is a dual-core chip, clocked at 1.50 GHz, with 2 MB of L3 cache, and 17W TDP. Backing the chip on this motherboard is Intel's NM70 chipset.

The C1007UN-D from GIGABYTE features two DDR3 DIMM slots supporting up to 16 GB of dual-channel memory. Storage interfaces consist of one SATA 6 Gb/s and two SATA 3 Gb/s internal ports, and an eSATA 3 Gb/s port. Legacy PCI makes for the lone expansion slot. Connectivity includes two gigabit Ethernet interfaces, 6-channel HD audio, six USB 2.0 ports, an RS232 COM port, LPT (by header), and PS/2. Display outputs include D-Sub (VGA) and HDMI. GIGABYTE did not release pricing information, but considering the CPU itself is priced around $90, we expect this board to be priced around $150.

Trio of GIGABYTE Z87 Motherboards Detailed

The Z87X-OC may be reserved for people who seldom patronize the PC case industry; but for everyone else, GIGABYTE has three options based on Intel's Z87 Express chipset, which supports overclocking on 4th generation Core "Haswell" K-series processors (detailed here). Leading the trio is the feature-rich Z87X-UD5H, followed by the fairly well-equipped Z87X-UD3H, and trailed by the most affordable of the three, Z87X-D3H.

The Z87X-UD5H packs a massive 16-phase CPU VRM, even if it's not backed by the Z87X-OC's voltage-control/monitoring paraphernalia. The CPU is wired to three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x16/NC/NC or x8/x8/NC or x8/x4/x4), three PCI-Express 2.0 x1, and a legacy PCI. The board features a total of ten SATA 6 Gb/s internal ports, six of which are driven by the Z87 PCH, four by third-party controllers. Display connectivity includes two HDMI ports, and one each of dual-link DVI and DisplayPort. 8-channel HD audio with TOSLINK digital output, two gigabit Ethernet interfaces, eight USB 3.0 ports (six rear, two by header), make for the rest of it.

GA-Z87X-OC To Lead GIGABYTE's LGA1150 Motherboard Pack

At a private media unveiling held on the sidelines of CeBIT, GIGABYTE disclosed its next-generation flagship motherboard, the Z87X-OC. Like most socket LGA1150 motherboards unveiled this week, this one is still under development, and the company is yet to finalize color-scheme and heatsinks for the PCH and VRM, so don't judge it by its looks just yet. The Z87X-OC is designed primarily for overclockers.

The LGA1150 socket is powered by an 8-phase VRM, which draws power from a combination of 4-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS, in addition to the board's 24-pin ATX connector. To stabilize the board's various power domains, you can optionally plug in a 6-pin PCIe power connector. The board gives overclockers a high degree of physical on-the-fly voltage control, and measurement points. One of the chipset's four USB 3.0 ports are wired out as a type-A port on-board, letting you install and run your Windows 7/8 installation off a USB 3.0 flash-drive.

GIGABYTE Outs Its GeForce GTX Titan Graphics Card

Gigabyte announced its GeForce GTX Titan graphics card. Much like every other GTX Titan announced till now, it sticks to NVIDIA reference design. To spice things up, Gigabyte is tossing in a few extras from its Aivia line of gaming peripherals, by including a gaming mousepad, and a pack of Aivia-themed playing cards that you can also play "memory" with. Based on the 28 nm GK110 silicon, the GeForce GTX Titan features 2,688 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 6 GB of memory. The card features NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 837/876/6008 MHz (core/GPU Boost/memory). It should be priced at $1000 before taxes, $1100~$1200 after it.

Gigabyte Intros E350N WIN8 Mini-ITX Motherboard

Gigabyte rolled out a new mini-ITX motherboard based on the AMD E350 "Zacate" APU, for entry-level PC and home-server builds, the E350N-WIN8. As the name might suggest, the board is designed to run Windows 8 with its entire feature set, including Fast Boot. It does that by replacing legacy AwardBIOS on older variants, with modern AMI UEFI, backed by Gigabyte's Dual-UEFI redundant BIOS technology that protects against failed BIOS updates. The E350N WIN8 uses a fairly big (SFF-safe) fan-heatsink to cool the APU, while a tiny heatsink cools its companion A45 FCH chipset.

The AMD E350 packs two x86-64 cores clocked at 1.60 GHz, with a maximum memory support of 16 GB, and AMD Radeon HD 6310D DirectX 11 graphics that rides on 80 stream processors. The APU is wired to two standard-size 240-pin DIMM slots. The lone expansion slot, sadly, is a legacy PCI. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin and 4-pin ATX connectors. Connectivity includes four SATA 3 Gb/s ports, eight USB 2.0/1.1 ports (four on the rear panel, four by headers), serial RS232 (COM) and parallel (LPT) ports, PS/2 mouse and keyboard connectors, and display outputs that include D-Sub (VGA) and HDMI (with 7.1-channel digital HD audio). Expect a sub-$100 price point.

Gigabyte Rolls Out GeForce GTX 650 Models with 100 mm Fan

Gigabyte expanded its GeForce GTX 650 graphics card lineup with two new models featuring its 100 mm fan-heatsink, the GV-N650D5-1GI (1 GB) and GV-N650D5-2GI
(2 GB). The cards feature non-reference design Ultra Durable 2 PCBs, and chunky aluminum heatsinks with copper cores, which are ventilated by 100 mm fans. The card features 1 GB or 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128-bit wide memory interface. Based on the 28 nm GK107 GPU, the GeForce GTX 650 features 384 CUDA cores. The card features NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 1058 MHz core, with 5.00 GHz memory. It draws power from a 6-pin PCIe power connector. Display outputs include one each of dual-link DVI, HDMI (gold-plated connector), and D-Sub (VGA). The 1 GB model is expected to be priced around $100, and the 2 GB around $130.

Gigabyte Announces U2442 Extreme Ultrabook

GIGABYTE announced the U2442 Extreme Ultrabook GeForce GT 650M and GT 730M graphics options. The U2442 is exceptionally designed with an elegant shuttle streamline design in a sleek form factor between 18.5 - 21mm and weighs in at just 1.59kg/1.69kg. Designed to bring you ultra-performance, it is powered by 3rd generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M / GT 650M discrete graphics. The U2442 Ultrabook is able to pack a 256GB mSATA SSD and a large 750GB/1TB HDD into its super slim body. The dual-storage system provides the user with speed and massive storage options. Do away with external storage with the Extreme Ultrabook.

Gigabyte Rolls Out GR-EZI14H 4-bay NAS

Gigabyte rolled out the GR-EZI14H 4-bay home/SMB NAS server. Almost identical to the GR-EZI04H, launched back in December, 2012; the GR-EZI14H ships with Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011, instead of the custom Linux-based NAS operating system of its older twin. Naturally then, it could come at a small premium.

The GR-EZI14H features a common desktop form-factor measuring 220 x 183.5 x 146.5 mm, with four 3.5-inch SATA drive caddies covered by a common lockable door. Under its hood is an Intel Atom D2500 processor clocked at 1.80 GHz, wired to Intel ICH10R southbridge, which supports up to six SATA 3 Gb/s ports, with RAID 0/1/0+1, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, and a USB DOM holding the operating system. Connectivity includes two gigabit Ethernet interfaces, two each of USB 3.0, USB 2.0/1.1; and a VGA display output.

GIGABYTE Announces New Server and Workstation Motherboards

GIGABYTE is proud to announce two new models of workstation motherboards and one new model dedicated to mission critical server applications. Gigabyte Intros Radeon HD 7750 Graphics Card with 2 GB DDR3 Memory

Gigabyte introduced a cost-effective Radeon HD 7750 graphics card, bearing the model number GV-R775D3-2GI. The card swaps out the standard 1 GB GDDR5 memory for 2 GB of DDR3 memory clocked at 1.60 GHz, which no doubt halves memory bandwidth while doubling the memory amount. The card is hence expected to be cheaper than its GDDR5 counterpart. The GPU is clocked at 800 MHz. The card uses a non-reference fan-heatsink with spirally-projecting aluminum fins that are ventilated by a large 100 mm fan. Display outputs include two DVI, and one each of HDMI (gold-plated connector) and D-Sub. The card is priced around $95, with a factory overclocked (850 MHz core, same memory) variant going for $100.

GIGABYTE Dual Thunderbolt Motherboards Debut 4K Resolution on Intel Collage

GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co.
