DGM (aka Digimate) rolled out a trio of IPS LED PC monitors covering the 24-inch, 27-inch, and 30-inch categories. The best part? These aren't the usual 1080p tripe. The 24-inch IPS-2402WDH features a scrollwheel-pleasing 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution, 178°/178° viewing angles, 350 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 static contrast ratio with dynamic mega-contrast, and 5 ms response time. It features in-built stereo speakers, display inputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub.

Moving on, the 27-inch IPS-2703WPH features a reinforced glass surface (we're guessing some Corning Gorilla magic at play here), 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution, 6 ms response time, and other vital-stats identical to its little sibling. Display inputs include dual-link DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, and D-Sub. Lastly there's the pack-leading IPS-3004WPH. This 30-incher features 2560 x 1600-pixel resolution, 6 ms response time, 370 cd/m² maximum brightness, and the same connectivity as its 27-inch sibling. Internally, it features the same IPS panel used in Dell U3014, which features GB-LED backlighting. DGM didn't finalize pricing.

Dell today announced the availability of three flagship monitors designed to provide users with an exceptional visual experience and outstanding screen performance. The new U3014, U2713H and U2413 displays each offer one of the industry's highest-quality and most advanced technology experiences, with uncompromising screen performance, precise, consistent colors, great usability and a wide array of connectivity options. The U3014 is Dell's largest screen size to date, while all three monitors come with PremierColor for true-to life, accurate, customizable colors that cover industry standards. Dell also announced a Single Monitor Arm (MSA14) and Dual Monitor Stand (MDS14), the first arm and stand optimized for Dell monitors with Dell Quick Release mounts.

In addition to the LaVie Z, NEC also announced its MultiSync EA244WMi line of 24-inch desktop monitors. Available in black (EA244WMi-BK) and white (EA244WMi), the monitors feature WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution, 6 ms response time, 350 cd/m² brightness, 25,000:1 contrast-ratio with dynamic mega-contrast, and 178°/178° (H/V) viewing angles. The LED-backlit IPS LCD monitors feature a nominal power draw of 41W, which goes down to 21W and 16W with EcoMode settings. Its stands feature a 90° pivot, 60° tilt, and 130 mm height-adjustment range. Display inputs include DisplayPort, DVI-D, HDMI, and D-Sub. 2W stereo speakers come built-in. Dell unveiled the 21.5-inch E2213H widescreen, and 17-inch E1713S square monitors. The two pack LED-backlit TN-film LCD panels, and a basic feature-set. The E2213H features 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 160° H/V viewing angles, 5 ms response time, 250 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and inputs that include DVI and D-Sub. The E1713S, on the other hand, features 1280 x 1024 pixels resolution, most other features remain the same, except it lacks DVI display inputs. The two are priced under $150.Source: PC Watch

Japanese display maker Mitsubishi Electric unveiled a pair of new DiamondCrysta Wide series 23-inch LCD monitors, the RDT234WX-Z and RDT234WX-3D (pictured in that order), enhanced for display input from smartphones and mobile devices. Both displays feature 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and as low as 3.2 ms (GTG) response time. While the RDT234WX-Z features 350 cd/m² brightness 178° viewing angles on both axes, and 5000:1 static contrast ratio; the RDT234WX-3D features 240 cd/m² brightness, 8000:1 static contrast ratio, 178° viewing angles, and includes stereoscopic 3D glasses. BenQ announced the 21.5-inch GW2260HM and 27-inch GW2760HM, a pair of LED-backlit LCD monitors with vertical alignment (VA) panels. Both feature 1920 x 1080 pixels native resolution, 178° vertical and 178° horizontal viewing angles, 250 cd/m² brightness, mega-contrast, and 4 ms response time. Both models are no more than 16 mm-thick, and feature DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI display inputs. 2W stereo speakers come standard. Japanese display maker Iiyama introduced two additions to its ProLite series of desktop monitors, the 24-inch E2473HS and 27-inch E2773HS. The two feature X-Res technology, an image-enhancement feature that benefits blurry or low-resolution content, simulating higher resolution. The two utilize conventional TN-film LCD panels with LED backlit illumination. 1920 x 1080 pixels is the standard resolution for both models. The E2473HS features 2 ms (GTG) response time, 1000:1 CR with mega contrast DCR; while the E2773HS supports response time as low as 1 ms, 1200:1 CR with mega contrast DCR. 300 cd/m² is the maximum brightness for both models. Display inputs for both include D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI. ASUS announced a pair of new monitors addressing different segments of the market, the PA248QJ for creative professionals, and the VG27AH for gamers. The 24-inch PA248QJ provides a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and packs a high-grade IPS LCD panel with 10-bit color resolution, high coverage of Adobe RGB palette, 6 ms response time, 300 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 static and 8000:1 ASCR contrast ratios, and a range of inputs including DisplayPort, DVI, and HDMI. The monitor also includes a 4-port USB 3.0 hub. Moving on, the VG27AH is a 27-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels native resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 5 ms response time, IPS LCD panel with 178-degree V/H viewing angles, 250 cd/m² brightness, 80000000:1 ASCR, and a variety of 3D display features.

Dell has this week introduced no less than five new monitors, the 27-inch S2740L, the 24-inch S2440L, the 23-inch S2340L and the 21.5-inch S2240L and S2240M. These fresh displays are part of the company's 2013 S Series and feature thin bezels, Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS (S2740L, S2340L, S2240L, S2240M) or VA (S2440L) panels with 178/178 degree viewing angles, and LED backlighting.

The IPS models have a 7 ms (gray to gray) response time and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, while the VA monitor has a 5 ms response time and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio. The S2740L packs VGA, DVI and HDMI ports (plus a 2-port USB hub) while the S2440L, S2340L and S2240L come with VGA and HDMI inputs. The S2240M has to settle for VGA and DVI. The S2740L and S2440L also have edge-to-edge glass.

Eizo unveiled a new lineup of ColorEdge monitors to appeal to both its traditional core of high-end graphics professionals as well as to middle and entry level users requiring monitors that provide accurate color for their creative endeavors.

The new lineup consists of three series and five models. The three series contain different feature sets, options, and price points for their intended audiences, but retain the hallmarks common to all ColorEdge monitors such as hardware calibration, brightness uniformity, and adjusting the gamma curve of each model on the EIZO factory line before shipping.

LG Electronics (LG) unveiled two new premium IPS moni-tors today at the IFA tradeshow in Berlin, the EA93 and EA83. The EA93 is designed to enjoy variety of entertainment and the EA83 is specifically crafted to handle graphics-intensive applications. The most noticeable feature on the EA93 is the cinematic screen, a 21:9 display – the same ratio used in real movie theaters –that works as a superb solu-tion for home entertainment and multitasking. The EA83 lets consumers take advantage of Wide Quad High Definition (WQHD) resolution (2560x1440 pixels). IPS panel major LG is readying a pair of new widescreen, high-resolution monitors for launch at IFA Berlin, the EA93 and EA83. The two incorporate LG's IPS LCD panels with LED illumination. The EA93 is a 29-inch ultra-widescreen monitor featuring a 21:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1080 pixels native resolution. The 27-inch EA83, on the other hand, features a more conventional 16:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

The EA93 is designed to support 4-way split screen, taking inputs from four different connectors: dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI, and MHL. A distinctive feature is a low-power white LED backlight power saving mode, which drops backlight power draw down to under 1W. The monitors include a pair of 4W stereo speakers. LG Electronics (LG) unveiled its advanced P Series of cloud monitors, allowing companies to do away with desktops and laptops altogether. The new VMware-based Zero Client monitors can be networked to create a virtual comput-ing system and come packaged with Cisco’s Universal Power over Ethernet (UPoE) technology, enabling centralized resources, greater system security and reduced costs.

“These monitors are a highly appealing option for the next generation workspace archi-tecture,” said J. J. LG Electronics (LG) today announced the availability of a new line of monitors, the IPS4 series. These monitors feature In-Plane Switching (IPS) rather than conventional Twisted Nematic (TN) panels, allowing for superb color reproduction, exceptional picture quality and unmatched color shift-free wide viewing.

AOC introduced a pair of new 50-series desktop monitors, the 21.5-inch e2250Swdn, and 24-inch e2450Swd. The two are LED-backlit LCD monitors, and its makers maintain that these draw up to 50 percent less power than CCFL-lit monitors. Both models feature 1920x1080 pixels resolution, 5 ms response time, and 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and inputs that include DVI-D (HDCP), and D-sub (VGA). Acer announced a pair of G Series 21.5-inch LED-backlit LCD monitors, the G225HQLAbmid and G225HQLAbd. Both monitors pack a glossy TN-film panel, with 1920x1080 pixels resolution, 5 ms response time, 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, and 1000:1 static contrast ratio. The monitors feature Acer Crystal Brite technology, and up to 100 million colors reproduction. The Eco Mode feature works to conserve power. Where the two models differ is inputs and speakers. While the G225HQLAbmid features HDMI, DVI-D (HDCP), D-Sub, and built-in 2W stereo speakers; the G225HQLAbd lacks HDMI and built-in speakers. Mitsubishi Electric Japan, launched a duo of 23-inch widescreen LED-backlit LCD monitors under its DiamondCrysta Wide series, the RDT234WX and RDT234WX-S. The two differ with the RDT234WX having an anti-glare matte coating, while the RDT234WX-S lacks it. The monitors are backed by IPS panels the provide richer color reproduction, with 1920x1080 pixels resolution, and response time as low as 3.5 ms, if its Overdrive feature is enabled. Both monitors provide 1000:1 contrast ratio (8000:1 DCR), 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, and display inputs that include two HDMI, one DVI, and a D-Sub. 545 x 170 x 394 mm (WxDxH), these monitors weigh around 4.9 kg. In addition to the LCD-MF242E, I-O Data unveiled the LCD-MF234XPBR, LCD-MF234XBR, and LCD-MF224XBR. These monitors are cousins of the LCD-MF234XPGBR launched in February, except that they feature anti-glare (matte) screens. The LCD-MF234XPBR packs a 23-inch anti-glare IPS panel, with 1920x1080 pixels resolution, response time as low as 8 ms (with Overdrive), 80,000:1 DCR and 1,000 static contrast ratio, 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, and 178 degree viewing angles. It measures 546 x 174 x 409 mm (WxDxH). Its price is estimated to be around 21,800 JPY (US $260.4).

The LCD-MF234XBR also packs a 23-inch panel, albeit TN-film. It has the same exact dimensions as the LCD-MF234XPBR, and the same 1920x1080 pixels resolution; but with panel specifications of response time as low as 2 ms (5 ms typical), and 170/160 degree viewing angles. The contrast ratios and maximum brightness are identical to those of the LCD-MF234XPBR. This screen goes for an estimated 19,800 JPY (US $236.5). Then there's the LCD-MF224XBR, which is a 21.5-incher, otherwise with the same exact specifications as the LCD-MF234XBR. It measures 511 x 164 x 371 mm, and costs an estimated 17,800 JPY (US $212.6). Japanese company Princeton Technology introduced two value widescreen monitors, the 21.5-inch PTFBYF-22W, and the 19-inch PTFBCF-19W. Both monitors are LED backlit, an an anti-glare panel. The PTFBYF-22W measures 505.6 x 365.7 x 179.8 mm (WxDxH), and provides a native resolution of 1920x1080 with 160° horizontal/vertical viewing angles. Other panel specifications include 1,000:1 contrast ratio (100,000:1 DCR), 250 cd/m² brightness, and 5 ms response time. Inputs include HDMI, DVI, and D-sub.

The PTFBCF-19W, on the other hand, measures 444 x 359 x 174 mm, and feature features 1440x900 resolution, 1,000:1 static contrast ratio and 20,000,000:1 DCR; 250 cd/m² brightness, and 5 ms response time. Samsung Electronics has today launched its 24-inch and 27-inch TB750 Series 7 HDTV monitors announced at CES 2012 in January. These two displays feature a sleek asymmetric design, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5 ms response time, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, 300 cd/m2 brightness, stereo speakers, a HDMI input, and both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.

The TB750 duo also comes with Intel WiDi (Wireless Display) and MHL (Mobile High-definition Link) support, and provides access to the Samsung Smart Hub for easy access to apps and web-based entertainment.
