Synology Unveils the DS1513+ SMB NAS

Synology America Corp. is proud to announce the release of the DS1513+, the latest in Synology's versatile business-class product line. The DS1513+ features increased throughput, more redundancy, and ease of use for businesses. The DS1513+ offers what small to medium sized businesses need: High Availability to minimize downtime, increased network load balancing and redundancy, plus the ability to scale out to 60TB of raw storage. The DS1513+ brings high-end enterprise functionality, down to desktop dimensions.

With link aggregation enabled, using all of the four 1Gbps NICs, the DS1513+ can reach speeds of over 200 MB/Sec writing, 350 MB/Sec reading. Additionally, link aggregation provides redundancy for SMB's in the event that a network node breaks down.

Synology Launches DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.2

Synology today released the official version of DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.2. "Synology has once again pushed the possibilities of NAS servers to new dimensions by releasing DSM 4.2," said Vic Hsu, CEO of Synology Inc. "It helps businesses achieve agility as well as productivity in big data storage, and reshapes users' multimedia experience with a suite of advanced features." DSM 4.2 delivers:

DSM 4.2 features LUN Snapshot and Clone to provide up to 256 snapshots per LUN and near-instant duplication of virtual copies of a LUN, with no impact on system performance and minimal extra storage space. Synology High Availability (SHA) now supports more DiskStation/RackStation, and together with Global hot spare disks, ensures business continuity across enterprise and SMB environments. Two-step verification reinforces security with a pre-defined password and a one-time six-digit code.

Synology Unveils DiskStation Manager 4.2 Beta

Synology today announced the beta availability of DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.2. Synology DiskStation and RackStation Acquire Windows Server 2012 Certification

Synology Launches RackStation RS3413xs+ NAS

Synology Inc. today launched RS3413xs+, the first XS+ series NAS server that boasts superior performance of 400,000+ read IOPS and high availability to provide a rigorous foundation for the mission-critical tasks of large-scale businesses.

Equipped with Xeon Quad Core 3.3 GHz CPU and dual 10GbE bandwidth capability, the RS3413xs+ is capable of delivering 2,000+ MB/s read throughput under RAID 5 configuration with link aggregation. The combination of SSD cache technology and SATA drives boosts throughput efficiently while minimizing cost per gigabyte. Besides, encryption acceleration with AES New Instructions ensures its performance stays uncompromised.

Synology Releases Peripherals Update with WD Red Hard Drives

Synology Inc. today announced the compatibility of its DiskStation & RackStation lineup with WD Red NAS 3.5” hard drives that include WD30EFRX (3 TB), WD20EFRX (2 TB), and WD10EFRX (1 TB). The above models have successfully passed stress and compatibility test from Synology, and proven to be compatible with select Synology DiskStation & RackStation from the x12, x11, x10, x09, and x08 series.

WD Red hard drives are designed specifically for home and small office NAS server. Featuring NASware and 3D Active Balance Plus technologies, the WD Red line is enhanced to drive reliability, improve overall performance, and simplify integration process.

Synology Announces Cloud Station Availability for Mac

Synology Inc. today released the Mac client of Cloud Station Beta, providing an easy, yet secure data synchronization solution for Mac users.

“Cloud Station redefines the role of a NAS server, making Synology DiskStation and RackStation a true private cloud which not only pushes your data to all your devices automatically, but also keeps them up-to-date,” said Darren Lin, Product Manager of Synology Inc. “Cloud Station can grow with users’ demands with no recurring fees. Synology Releases Plex Media Server Package for its DiskStation and RackStation

Synology Inc. today introduced the Plex Media Server package, which provides selected DiskStation and RackStation users with a complete media solution, hundreds of channels of online content, and the capability to stream the content to user's iOS and Android devices, Windows and Mac computers, and Roku Media Streamers. The Plex media server is developed by Plex.

Plex Media Server package seamlessly streams media content stored in DiskStation and RackStation to various devices, offering users with the convenience of browsing and watching their video collections anytime, anywhere. “We appreciate Plex's effort to develop a package for DiskStation and RackStation users.
