Lenovo Announces New E-Series and ThinkCentre M-Series Desktops

Lenovo today announced a number of new products and updates to its ThinkCentre and Lenovo line of desktops designed for business users. The ThinkCentre M83 desktop PC is the newest member of the M Series "Tiny" space-saving desktops and the affordable new Lenovo E50-05 joins Lenovo's desktop tower series. In addition to these new products, the stylish and slim ThinkCentre E63z all-in-one is now available with Intel Core i3 processors for an even more responsive PC experience.

"Lenovo remains focused on expanding and improving upon its existing desktop product lines to power businesses of all sizes," said Ouyang Jun, vice president and general manager, Desktop and Visuals, Lenovo. "Our new and affordable Lenovo E50-05 tower and ThinkCentre M83 'Tiny', along with the update to our E63z, are the latest in our ongoing efforts to meet user demands for optimal performance, reliability and manageability."

Lenovo Announces New Business Desktops and Laptops

Lenovo today announced at the 2014 IFA Consumer Electronics Unlimited show in Berlin a portfolio of business and consumer devices that provide tailored solutions to some of the most common business user headaches and that delight consumers in unexpected ways.

The lineup starts with the new ThinkPad Helix, a complete business 2-in-1 Ultrabook that elevates thin and light design and takes multimode computing to the next level with the latest state of the art hardware. Lenovo also introduced two new all-in-one (AIO) tabletop PCs: the 19.5-inch HORIZON 2s, Lenovo's thinnest tabletop PC packed with premium features, plus the 21.5-inch HORIZON 2e, Lenovo's most affordable tabletop PC. In addition, Lenovo announced the ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One 23, a new way for businesses to customize a secure AIO desktop solution, and the thinner and lighter Edge 15, an ultra-sleek dual-mode laptop for consumers.

Lenovo Expands ThinkCentre Range with Affordable Desktop PCs for Business

Lenovo today announced the latest additions to its ThinkCentre desktop PC line designed for business users. The ThinkCentre E63z packs a blend of essential features and affordable performance into an impressively thin all-in-one form factor. Lenovo also introduced a new member of its astonishingly small "Tiny" series with the M53 desktop PC. The M53 features Intel Pentium power, wireless connectivity and the unique USB keyboard power-on technology allowing the user to power up from a keyboard. In addition, Lenovo's new high value ThinkCentre M79, available in mini tower or small form factor, includes Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 for enhanced security and enhanced remote management capability.

Designed with businesses in mind, these desktops now feature Smart USB Protection giving users or IT managers the ability to control access and usage of USB ports, and Solid State Hybrid Drive (SSHD) support to boost system performance. Also common are industry leading energy saving certifications including Energy Star 6.0 and EPEAT ratings.

Lenovo Announces New ThinkCentre All-in-one Desktops

Lenovo today announced new all-in-one (AIO) desktops with a simpler ergonomic design featuring optional multi-touch screens, improved cable management and new mounting options with the ThinkCentre UltraFlex Stand allowing for vertical, rotate and tilt movements including a fully flat position optimized for touch. Also announcing today, the ThinkCentre E73 and M73 desktops power businesses looking for traditional tower, small form factor and Tiny systems. Productivity and performance is enhanced by the latest Intel 4th generation Core processors, optional discrete graphics and new solid state hybrid drives (SSHD). WiFi allows easy connection to an enabled large display or notebook. All new models are Energy Star 5.2 compliant, use recycled materials and less packaging to save energy.

Despite the ongoing challenges in the PC market, according to NPD DisplaySearch, demand for all-in-one (AIO) PCs is at an all-time high. In Q1 2013, DisplaySearch reported record AIO shipments of 4.3 million units worldwide for a year-to-year growth of 25 percent. Lenovo continues to lead the AIO segment with 30.6 percent market share and continues to innovate with new all-in-one products, such as the ThinkCentre E93z, E73z and M73z announced today.

Lenovo Announces Official Opening of U.S. PC Manufacturing Line in N. Carolina

Lenovo, the world's second-largest PC vendor, hosted a grand opening ceremony today attended by North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and other prominent local dignitaries at its first U.S. personal computer production facility in Whitsett, N.C.

With the return of PC manufacturing to the U.S., the company is adding 115 new manufacturing jobs in North Carolina and is on track to fully ramp up production by the end of June. Lenovo's bold move to develop the long-term strength of the American PC market defies the decades-old trend of US electronics firms relying on overseas facilities for manufacturing and other outsourced functions. The 240,000-square-foot Whitsett facility, located approximately 10 miles east of Greensboro, serves four critical business functions: Logistics Center, Customer Solutions Center, National Returns Center, and now U.S. Manufacturing Production.

Lenovo Expands Recall of ThinkCentre Desktop Computers Due to Fire Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Lenovo ThinkCentre M70z and M90z computers

Units: About 13,000 (50,500 were previously recalled in March 2012)

Hazard: A defect in an internal component in the power supply can overheat and pose a fire hazard.

Lenovo Readies the ThinkCentre M92z Slim All-in-One PCs

This summer Lenovo is going to roll out a new line of all-in-one desktops, the Ivy Bridge-powered ThinkCentre M92z. Set to arrive in July, the M92z PCs will have a slim design (that makes them resemble regular monitors), 20-inch or 23-inch touchscreens, discrete graphics (Nvidia or AMD, it's still uncertain), and will run Windows 7 while being Windows 8 Ready.

In addition to the M92z, Lenovo is also expected to release in July the M72z and an Edge 92z All-in-Ones.
