Announcing the TechPowerUp Mother's Day WCG Challenge 2013
TechPowerUp World Computing Grid (WCG) Team, among the world's top-ten WCG teams, is celebrating Mother's Day with a huge 10-day crunching contest. Up for grabs are some epic community-sourced prizes, including hardware for your crunching rigs, gaming peripherals, gift cards, and PC games, tons of 'em! To participate, all you need to do is crunch for TechPowerUp from 00:00 UTC, 10th May 2013; to 23:59 UTC, 19th May 2013, and score a minimum of 10,000 BIONC points within the contest period. Winners for each of the dozens of prizes will be chosen at random.

World Cyber Games Partners With Korean Air, NVIDIA and Seagate
World Cyber Games, Inc. (WCG), the recognized blue chip leader for international video game competitions, announced the partnership with Korean Air, NVIDIA and Seagate (alphabetical order).
As the leaders of each industry, Korean Air joined the WCG sponsor line as the festival sponsor, and NVIDIA and Seagate as the official sponsor to provide various services at the WCG 2012 Grand Final which will be held in Kunshan, China from November 29th to December 2nd.

TechPowerUp Announces November World Community Grid Challenge
One of the leading teams on the charts, Team TechPowerUp World Community Grid (WCG) is announcing the November Challenge. Spread across two rounds in the first two weeks of the coming month, that's 01/11/2012 to 07/11/2012 and 08/11/2012 to 14/11/2012; the objective of the contest is to score as many points each week as possible. World's Largest Gaming Festival Names Samsung as Official Monitor Partner for WCG '12
World Cyber Games (WCG) announced today that Samsung Electronics has been selected as the official monitor partner of the WCG 2012 Grand Final which will be taking place from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 in Kunshan, China. The Series 7 (S24B750) and Series 3 (S23B370H) monitors will be used by the national team competitors during the WCG 2012 Grand Final tournament.
"The fact that Samsung has been selected as the official partner of WCG for 12 consecutive years demonstrates that our monitors are recognized as a global display leader by gamers," said Jeong-Hwan Kim, senior vice president of Display Sales and Marketing at Samsung Electronics. "We will do our best to provide the best environment for professional gamers."
"Thanks to Samsung's monitors, cyber athletes can enjoy games in a more comfortable environment," said Brad Lee, CEO of World Cyber Games. "The monitors will be used in the China national team selection match, followed by the WCG 2012 Grand Final, which runs from Oct. 26 to 28."

TechPowerUp World Community Grid (WCG) team is at the forefront of promoting the power of distributed computing to help solve the world's problems. The team decided to run our biggest distributed computing contest this year in a bid to promote participation. The contest involves scoring the most WCG BIONC points for TechPowerUp! team (#22175) over the duration of the contest. The winner and first runner up get awesome new cruching boxes (distributed computing headless PCs) that are configured with components that help with distributed computing applications. These include multi-core 64-bit processors and NVIDIA CUDA-powered GPUs.

TechPowerUp Announces World Community Grid August Contest
TechPowerUp's World Community Grid (WCG) community is one of the top-ranking WCG teams on the charts. To celebrate its success and help give it a further push, the team has announced a contest. The contest runs throughout August, and the goal is to achieve 50,000 points within the 31 day time-frame. Points should be earned toward TechPowerUp WCG team (#22175). Between all those who reach there, a lucky winner (picked up in a draw) wins a PC bundle that includes nearly all the components one needs to add another rig to the fleet of WCG crunching machines. This includes an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, compatible motherboard, a GeForce GT 240 graphics card, RAM, HDD, and PSU.

TechPowerUp Community Crunching/Folding Contest Announced, Score Your Way to a DC-PC
TechPowerUp's Folding@Home and World Community Grid teams, both among the top 100 teams in their own merits, have decided to give back to the community by announcing the TechPowerUp Community Crunching/Folding Contest. Organized entirely by the community, the contest gives one lucky winner, a pre-assembled, turnkey PC with optimal hardware for distributed computing (DC-PC). For starters, the PC has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 accelerator to run GPU-accelerated distributed computing applications of the likes of Folding@Home GPU, while its Pentium Dual-Core handles CPU-driven distributed computing applications, such as World Community Grid. With 500 GB of handy storage, Windows XP SP2 OS, Antec BP-550Plus 550W PSU to power it all, and In Win X-Fighter as its housing, the prize would make a perfect addition to any distributed computing enthusiast's armory.

TechPowerUp World Community Grid Team Amongst Top 100 Teams
The TechPowerUp World Community Grid (WCG) team crossed an important milestone today, reaching a world rank of 99, entering the top 100 domain. The team ranks (TC) 99 out of 15,293 according to WCG statistics aggregator BOINC Synergy. 118 out of registered 132 members are active. According to statistics from Free-DC.org, the team will enter the top 90 teams in 10 days (at its present rate), and top 75 in about one month. The team's growth like clockwork could not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of its members, who believe in doing their bit for the various scientific and socially-relevant problems WCG attempts to solve. TechPowerUp! World Community Grid Team Surges Past 6 Million Points at Free-DC.org
The TechPowerUp! World Community Grid (WCG) Team passed an important milestone, in its relentless pursuit of the top spot. The team scored an aggregate of 6 million points yesterday as per the scoring system of popular distributed computing score aggregator Free-DC.org (6,061,211 as of now). Currently holding world rank 170, the team's score is growing with an average of 160,000+ points per day. To give you an idea of the growth rate, statistics show the team to have aggregated close to 4 million points in the last 28 days alone. The team currently has 79 registered contributors, and believes in doing its bit for the various scientific, socially-relevant challenges WCG attempts to solve.
