Requirements
Systool Build 512 or greater
Samurize application (tested with v1.62, but it should work with earlyer version that supports plugin interface v2)
Why a plugin for samurize?
My primary intrest in Systool was in it’s hardware monitoring abilities, but since I was using Motherboard Monitor 5 for a long time I was used to all of the fancy GUI features like the Dashboard and the transparent OSD (on screen display). Motherboard Monitor 5 is not supported or developed any more so it was time to try out some other tools - systool among them.
The first thing I didn’t like about systool was it’s hardware monitoring GUI. It is impossible for W1zzard to create the GUI everybody will like, and IMHO he shouldn’t even try to make any kind or complex GUI - his development time should be concentrated on hardware aspects of systool.
But, I wanted a GUI where I can determine what will be displayed and where - about 30 minutes later SystoolSamurize plugin was created...
What can be done with it?
You can create any kind of GUI you like for the Systool’s hardware monitor:
A nice example (by sideeffect):
Your GUI can contain all of systool’s hardware monitoring data shown as text, graphs, histograms and much more.
Your GUI can act like a normal window, be completely/partialy transparent (OSD style) or be pinned to your desktop.
Look at some screenshots of samurize in action here:
How to set it up
Start systool and minimise it.
Unpack the archive and extract SystoolSamurize.dll. Copy it to \plugins subfolder of the folder to which you installed samurize.
Start samurize Config Tool.
For every value you want to import from systool do the following:
Right-click main design area, select Plugins and then SystoolSamurize.dll.
Tools and Settings windows should have appeared at the right side of samurize design area, and the Edit Meters, and within it Source tab, should be selected.
Click on the combo box under Select Function to run. Choose ValueBySensor or ValueByName.
If you select ValueBySensor you will be asked to enter the number which represents the systool’s value you want to import and show in samurize.
If you select ValueByName you will be asked to enter the name (case sensitive) which represents the systool’s value you want to import and show in samurize.
Names and numbers of the systool’s values can be shown by clicking on the Global Settings button...
Prefered method is using the ValueByName becouse sensor numbers might change when adding/removeing/enableing/disableing the sensor within systool.
Click Test Function to test your new value - at this point you should see the values from the systool within the main design area.
You can now edit the visual appearance ot the imported value - change color, background, show it a graph, histogram or something else. For more informations, please see the Samurize help file.
Note: Samurize defaults to zero decimals - you will need to increase the number of decimals when showing voltages.
Users contribution
Feel free to add screenshots and download links to your Samurize created GUIs (use export tool).
