NVIDIA to Only Launch the Flagship GeForce RTX 5090 in 2024, Rest of the Series in 2025

Nvidia is making too much money selling AI cards and with limited competition in the gaming space they can push the release of new products without impacting the bottom line.

AMD "Strix Point" Mobile Processor Confirmed 12-core/24-thread, But Misses Out on PCIe Gen 5

The RX570 is an older card and it does not need as much bandwidth. While I will agree, 3.0 speeds were enough for your GPU for a long time, but that has started to shift. Newer and high end GPUs move more data and they need more bandwidth, therefore the need for 4.0. 5.0 is all but useless...

AMD "Strix Point" Mobile Processor Confirmed 12-core/24-thread, But Misses Out on PCIe Gen 5

How many laptop users really need a 12 core chip? Are you saying you'll buy an inferior product from a company so that company can make more money and maybe one day sell the products for less? I bet AMD has a bridge they can sell you too. I dont think you understand how prices actually work...

PNY 4080 Super XLR8 Bios Flash

I have just purchased a PNY 4080 Super XLR8 and the power limit is fixed to 320. I have seen some information online about flashing another card's bios on to your card to make it work. I guess my concern is I have always been leery about flashing a bios because it can brick the card...

NVIDIA Points Intel Raptor Lake CPU Users to Get Help from Intel Amid System Instability Issues

People here are way too serious for sarcasm, especially so early in the morning. They have to defend their brand like they were the chip's designers. The reality is both Intel and AMD make great CPUs.

Intel Confirms Core Ultra "Lunar Lake" Packs 45 TOPS NPU, Coming This Year

Can someone educate me on why it's important to run Copilot locally instead of the cloud? In my opinion, we have only been getting closer and closer to cloud computing but this seems to be going the other direction. Are Microsoft severs not better than an ultra laptop CPU?

TechPowerUp Hiring: Reviewers Wanted for Motherboards, Laptops, Gaming Handhelds and Prebuilt Desktops

Love your work W1zzard, best reviews around. Your probably a pretty good boss too. For a journalism gig, yes I would read it (if it was good) as writing is fundamental to the job. But I dont have time to give 50 applicants equal treatment in my job. It would take all day or more. I'm not...

TechPowerUp Hiring: Reviewers Wanted for Motherboards, Laptops, Gaming Handhelds and Prebuilt Desktops

You need to think about the hiring manager that is going to be looking at resumes. How many essays do you expect them to read? How many would you read when looking for a candidate? I have hired a few people in my career and if a resume is multiple pages it usually goes in the trash. There...

US Government Wants Nuclear Plants to Offload AI Data Center Expansion

While solar or wind farms in the middle of no where makes a lot of sense, but the infrastructure requirements for energy transmission would be astronomical. You have to get the energy where it needs to go. Also, and I may be wrong about this, but transmission and distributions (T&D) losses may...

US Government Wants Nuclear Plants to Offload AI Data Center Expansion

Is the US DOE really recommending nuclear fusion power plants? I thought the smart people at the DOE would know we dont have not harnessed nuclear fusion (despite trying for the last 75 years). If we had fusion reactors, energy would be practically infinite.

    Intel Core i9-14900KS

Great review! The gaming stats for this review should be used as marketing material for AMD. That 7800x3d is looking pretty good at half the price.

    Fractal Design North XL

If you need or complain about missing IO on the case then this case is not for you. Why buy this case to just run a bunch of wires out of the top? It's supposed to look classy, not like a battle station.

Sparkle Intros PCIe Gen 4 Quad M.2 Riser Card

Why not use the card as a heat sink? Makes no sense using fans when there is plenty of room for a simple heatsink.
