The ADATA Ultimate SU650 is a solid-state drive in the 2.5" form factor, launched in 2018. It is available in capacities ranging from 960 GB to 1.9 TB. This page reports specifications for the 960 GB variant. With the rest of the system, the ADATA Ultimate SU650 interfaces using a SATA 6 Gbps connection. The SSD controller is the MAS0902A-B2C from MaxioTech, a DRAM cache is not available. ADATA has installed 32-layer TLC NAND flash on the Ultimate SU650, the flash chips are made by Micron. Please note that this SSD is sold in multiple variants with different NAND flash or controller, which could affect performance, the "Notes" section at the end of this page has more info. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are handled more quickly. The Ultimate SU650 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 520 MB/s and 320 MB/s write; random IO reaches 40K IOPS for read and 75K for writes.
At its launch, the SSD was priced at 149 USD. The warranty length is set to three years, which is above average, but shorter than the five years offered by many other vendors. ADATA guarantees an endurance rating of 560 TBW, a good value.

Notes

Drive:

This drive might be using Micron 3D TLC 1st Gen 32-Layers with 384Gb dies.
This drive with Micron's 32-Layers 384Gb dies had over 20% of overprovisioning space.
Second revision might be using Micron FortisFlas B16A 64-Layers.
Third revision might be using Samsung V4 V-NAND 64-Layers
Previous revisions came with a Silicon Motion SM2258XT
NAND Flash Bus might be operating between 533 MT/s (267 MHz) ~ 667 MT/s (333 MHz)

NAND Die:

tPROG with overhead: 1630 µs (Avg - 19.6 MB/s)
