The XPG Gammix S7 is a solid-state drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, launched on August 14th, 2020. It is available in capacities ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB. This page reports specifications for the 2 TB variant. With the rest of the system, the XPG Gammix S7 interfaces using a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 connection. The SSD controller is the RTS5762 from Realtek. XPG has installed 64-layer TLC NAND flash on the Gammix S7, the flash chips are made by Samsung. Please note that this SSD is sold in multiple variants with different NAND flash or controller, which could affect performance, the "Notes" section at the end of this page has more info. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are processed more quickly. The Gammix S7 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and 3,000 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 290K for reads and 240K for writes.
At its launch, the SSD was priced at 309 USD. The warranty length is set to five years, which is an excellent warranty period. XPG guarantees an endurance rating of 1280 TBW, a typical value for consumer SSDs.

Notes

Drive:

This drive has a small amount of DRAM Cache, similar to the XPG Gammix S41 TUF and SX8100.
Although this NAND supports up to 1 GT/s of Bus, the controller cannot run at these speeds.

Controller:

This Realtek controller is a Hybrid controller, it supports DRAM Cache for storing Meta-Data, but also supports H.M.B. (Host Memory Buffer)
