Thermaltake Launches SpinQ VT CPU Cooler with Special LED Lighting

Thermaltake, leading DIY thermal solutions brand, launches the next generation of the award-winning SpinQ processor cooler, the Thermaltake SpinQ VT. With its multi-socket support the SpinQ VT offers excellent compatibility for upcoming Intel LGA 1156, LGA 1366 and older LGA 775 processors, while AMD AM3, AM2+ and AM2 CPUs are supported.

The SpinQ VT combines cooling strength with an enticingly aesthetic appearance. Three u-shaped 6 mm heatpipes connect the mirror coated copper base with the cylindrical heat sink which is created of 50 spiral aluminum fins. Inside the heat sink spiral a specially designed 80 mm blow fan rotates with 1000 to 1600 RPM to exhaust the heat over 360 degrees. Manual control over the fan speed is provided for by the convenient VR Fan knob allowing for stepless speed adjustment. All of this results in excellent cooling characteristics taking up to 180W/mm2 of heat dissipation.
The internal 80 mm fan adds to the futuristic design concept with its fierce red LED lighting effect glowing inside the cylinder while also diffusely beaming over the aluminum fins into the case. The CPU cooler is available at a suggest retail price of US$ 49.

They stole my idea!

Should have HDT, a bit shorter heatpipes (8mm maybe) and more heat dissipation area. Oh and those fins should have holes, like the Thermalright HR-01 Plus, but with something like a 45 degree angle.

Oh, and the inner edge of fins should be "grooved" like on the ThermoLab Baram, less resistance to static pressure.

(am I talking nonsense?)

This might be nice for show and shine, efficient cooling won't be delivered I guess, regardless of the 360 degree heat ...exhaust...lol wtf?

I wonder if this one will perform as bad as the other one.

I imagine it would, all they've done is make it verticle!

It be better for mobo cooling then the last one though.

Wow, another great idea... but TT has surely f*cked it up somehow.

The only thing TT does not suck at is power supplies, and even those have their problem child series.

Anyone else notice this thing is exactly like some of Gigabyte's old coolers?

I think Thermaltake has good ideas, just don't come through full swing with them. Or, it could be the exact opposite, being that no one else has used this cooler design because it sucks lol.

LOL! 180W/mm^2

its a bit too much, isnt it? an i7 puts out that much heat, i wonder if this cooler pretends to cool an i7 with 1mm^2 of surface

It looks like they've gone back to the DragonOrb. Those were some great HSF back in the day.

That striker extreme board OCs like crap. I bet that heatsink wont help the OC yield that much

looks like GIGABYTE's old 3D rocket cooler.

A Cooler is suppose to direct heat away from whatever it is cooling. This thing will just move the heat from the processor and use it to heat everything else up.

Forget all that. What is up with the heat pipes on the Mobo. They wrap all the way around the processor socket. What board is that?

They must not suck that bad for AMD/ATI to use a TT V1 "Black Widow" for a showcase cooler...
(not my picture)

v1 is the only TT cooler that is worth a damn... the others really do suck, especially the blingy ones with that design.

Aye but even the v1 is expensive for what it does, a lot of cheaper ones out perform it.

Only thing it really has going for it is a completely unique design ( one I like quite a lot!)
