PowerColor and TechPowerUp Pimp My Rig Contest Winners

Announcing the winners of PowerColor and TechPowerUp Pimp My Rig Contest. Over September, we ran an interesting contest open to GPU-Z users, in which the one with the lowest valid 3DMark 03 score gets to win an exotic new PowerColor HD 6970 X2 dual-GPU graphics card, and one lucky participant with any valid score, is given a PowerColor HD 6870 X2 graphics card.

And the winners are:
  • Sheng from South Africa, wins the PowerColor HD 6970 X2 for the lowest valid score
  • Max from Brazil, wins the PowerColor HD 6870 X2, for getting lucky big time
TechPowerUp and pals will return with more awesome contests.

Nope, you had to complete certain game runs in 3dMark. :)

Core & memory clock = 0 MHz.

Which is bollocks and shouldn't have counted. An actual low score (with a crappy video card) should have won, not this.
Not to mention his rig doesn't need "pimping", but whatever.

Does that gpu frequency actually mean it was in his case but not in use? And can a 1090T downclock to those frequencies?

I'm with 'rpsgc' on this. This should have been won by some dude with a 10 yr old rig. Something beige and Bill Gates-ish.

Completely Bonkers
Congratulations to the winners :)

Random prize was random prize. Can't argue with that.

Non-random prize... congrats on scoring such a low score... but I thought the competition would have been better using approved drivers and "true working rig". Handouts to the people running the true slowest rig would have been more in the TPU spirit IMO. But I'm not knocking Sheng. He won within the rules of this competition.

But how did he do it? Should be part of the win requirement to reveal all ;)

Congratulations to the winners! ... but not to the judges; a 1090t cpu and a HD5770 card got the lowest score? Give me a break, this is so wrong. :shadedshu

"1" 3Dmark??? LMAO!

seriously... how the HELL do you get a score THAT low????

He is running a 5770, Phenom II, and 4gig ram... with scores like ".07"???

oh... wait a tick... unapproved driver.

appears he is using a 'special' driver for the 5770.

kudos for duping the challenge with 'tweaks' LoL

Orb was changed to show <1FPS like September ~18-19. Submissions after that date showed values.

Grats to the winners. My lowest was a valid 5 with my current rig minus one 470.

Because he didn't get a numeric result for the GT test scores as the rules clearly stated.
